Title: hi everyone
Post by: Shana A on September 20, 2006, 03:22:40 PM
Hi everyone. I found this site a few days ago and have been enjoying reading various threads, figured it was time to introduce myself and contribute. My name is Zythyra, I transitioned in 1993, after a little more than a year RLT, I decided not to go any further. I'm self employed, and at that time was having a difficult time of continuing to make a living in a rural area. I'm still out as TG, at times I've identified as M2F2? and as I read this site, perhaps androgyne is as good a description as any to fit who I am. I could spend hours writing a more in depth intro, hopefully this'll do for now, looking forward to gettting to know everyone.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome.

QuoteIt's nice to know the RLT does do it's job.

Melissa, I wish it was as simple as the RLT did its job. In 1994, I was ready to continue the process. My therapist had said she'd sign whatever I needed, however I was unable to find an endocrinologist who'd see me as a patient and prescribe HRT without having health insurance. My feelings regarding who I am inside have never changed in the last dozen years, and recently I've been wondering again about what is my next step. So here I am. I'm glad to have found Susan's place, I really wish this message board had been around back then.

QuoteI am finding your story very interesting as you tried a RLT then went back.

Living as a woman was a profound experience for me, in many ways I've never felt more at ease in my entire life. There were many different reasons for "going back" at that time, including finances, lack of health insurance, etc., however the fundamental feelings of my being a different gender than what I was labeled with at birth are still the same now as they were then.

I've recently been thinking a lot about what next step to take, I'm not happy about living an invisible life. Thanks so much for listening.
