I just made my first counseling appointment for September 14th. I was going to wait until January but I got a call back from a counselor I called a few days ago and it just seemed so right. I just felt as though it was right. I feel so good to be moving forward. Mind you I have to travel an hour away to see her but its worth it. My SO was downstairs when I called and i came running downstairs and she had to tell me to calm down because I was running around like a kid in a candy store with excitement. Just hope all goes well and I can start hormones by January. That would be a great way to start off the new year.
Next step is going to be to tell my mother. I am so scared to tell her that like Ive put it off for so long. No sure if I am going to wait until after I start counseling or do it sometime soon.

So I recently decided to go back to college to Kent State University. Well guess what I found out. The campus has therapists that will handle GID. I spoke to a lady who makes the appointments and said I can start the day school starts. Therefore I have moved my first therapist appointment up until august 31. I am very excited. Plus the cost is a half of the price. I cant wait. Thought I would share the excitement.

Very cool. Good luck with college. The more I look back and hear from other guys the more I think transitioning during college is the best time.

congrats dude. Kent state is pretty close to me. You're in about the same position as me with your mom it sounds like. I have been putting it off because i'm pretty sure her reaction isn't going to be the greatest. It scares me because we have been super close my entire life. I decided wait to talk to my therapist before writing her a letter, so i could get some type of advise. I actually wrote a letter to her today, now i just need to send it out. Hopefully everything works out for you. Congrats again on getting your appt. set up

Well I again found a new therapist and this time I think I have found a winner. I am glad. I met with her today at 4 pm. She said I should be ready for hormones in 3 months. She also said I seem to have done my research and I know what I want. She also said a year after I start hormones I will be ready for chest surgery. So I believe this is a step forward. Only thing bothering me now is telling my mom. I am positively clueless. Baby steps I guess.

Congratulations! It sounds like you found a good therapist who has set reasonable goals and given you a great timeline. This way you know when things will be happening and can move forward!

Well all is going well. In my second month of therapy. I go back in the begining of november and set up my appointment to take some personality test. The head guy of the place I go for therapy makes all trans people take it. Then in December I meet with the Gender team which is a set of three therapists. After that I am going to wait until January to start T and it should be all good. i am so excited.
And I told my mother. It didnt happen how I wanted but at least she knows now. I sent her text saying her and I should go to dinner one night and talk. She asked me what about and I just replied me. The next message i got from her said this "Do you think you are a boy?" All i could say back was yes. later on in the week i went to her house and she played twenty questions with me. So now my mom and step dad know. All that is left is telling my mom parents.
Oh ya and on December 18 I have my court date for my name change. Uber excited about that one. Therefore I need to tell my grandparents before november 18 so they dont read it in the newspaper instead of me telling them.
Well thats an update for now. I am uber excited about it all.

He's a good guy and a decent therapist, but I have a feeling he likes the money that comes in and likes to prolong therapy. At least that's what Murphy said to me. Oh gee I believe I know you too. Ya i feel ya. If he doesnt give me permission I am going to go see murphy anyways. See what he says. I dunno. Mueller said i am ready now but I have to wait my three months and then I have to wait until january so i can afford it. I dunno how much pull she has over him or how that works but I guess I will find out.
