I keep thinking if I could get the hysto, I'd get the right sideburn. Rest of it's blond, so I doubt it'll look particularly significant for a long time. My dad's didn't, so I can't expect much for me.

But my left sideburn is at least dark blond and Dad had sideburns if nothing else. So I'd just like a right sideburn.

The facial hair may be insignificant but the man surely isn't!

Insignificant? Jeez, what a word.

I prefer clean shaven anyways.  ;D

Same here.  Facial hair feels like sandpaper on my cheek.  Blah.  Yes, even after it has grown in a bit.

I imagine I would probably cry if I saw what my medical reports said about me too but I'm not gonna dwell on that, I can't change it.  What I can change is my perception of myself.  I can see myself as a freak or a mutant or even an "it" if I choose to and, honestly, it's very difficult not to do that somedays or I can see myself as what I am.  I am a transsexual woman who will never have all the "goodies" of a genetic woman or all the subtle characteristics that, so often, seem to identify women.

I'm not worried though because I'm slowly learning that those "subtle characteristics" are something that I fixate on because of my GID and not things that actually define a woman.  When I go to the doctor and they ask me when my last period was and they are sitting two feet away I realize that people view me differently than I view myself.

I realize that you guys want all the stuff that we hated as much as we want all the stuff that you hated but like us it's not always possible.  You're a good looking, successful, caring and intelligent man Dennis.  Trust me....you are soooooo far ahead of many genetic males it's not even funny.

man, that's bad.

and untrue: the facial hair you do have is of huge significance to you! doctors might try to understand that, and write about patients a bit more respectfully, even in documents that are normally only seen by their colleagues. of course this might be just 'medical speak' in their view, but there are better ways to put it... like beginning facial hair (well okay so its a little slow)... something that gives some hope for the future.

and I have to say I'm glad my hair is dark. I used to think I'd go for the clean shaven look, but I've surprised myself, and now I can really see myself with more facial hair and the image seems to fit me. Better not get my hopes up too much, wait to see what happens once i start T.

for you, I hope your right sideburn will hurry up, dammit!
