Title: Let The Right One In
Post by: nathan on August 20, 2009, 08:28:58 PM
Anybody else seen this?  it's a Swedish vampire movie, and the main characters are 12-year-old children.  It's beautiful in its haunting mood, and is a great change of pace from the Twilight and Buffy stuff.

I don't want to spoil it, but (since this is Susan's) there are also sex/gender related questions that come up with the movie's female vampire character.  Anyone who has read the novel it was based off of will know...

If you haven't seen it, add it to your Netflix queue.  You won't be disappointed.

It's interesting that you brought this up, since I just watched in a couple nights ago.  And right now it's part of Netflix' instant viewing, so for anyone who's a Netflix subscriber, you can watch it right now.

It's a bit slower paced, as are a lot of European films, but it was interesting.

I'd like to read the book.  Do you remember who the author is?

I dont like the film because it missed out a lot from the book. Like Hakan (if that was him name). There was a lot of stuff he did in the book which obviously couldn't be shown in the film. It's worth watching but I strongly advise reading the book first.
