Title: Relentless Façade
Post by: Debra on August 30, 2009, 04:59:29 PM
Serene Lagoon, glistening peacefully
seemingly lucid, bright sunrise ahead.
Yet beneath the surface, beyond the looking glass
the truth lies, bare and bound
enclosed and drowning, in the dark recesses.
A raging thunder without a sound
righteous ridicule, subliminal suggestion
crushing in from all sides.
There's no escape, except for abandoning air;
nowhere to turn, no understanding, nobody listening.
Amidst the pain, justified longing only intensifies
a constant screaming, piercing the soul
unable to escape this corporeal coil.
Steadily shamed and adamantly accused
frailty in yielding, impaired surrender.
Yet the only nemesis in need of confrontation
remains merely essence of self;
that which cannot be fought and won.
Helpless melancholy overtaking
there's nowhere to run.

Thanks, most of my poetry just flows out of me.

This is an example where I wrote down everything that I was feeling first and went piece by piece and made it fit into a poem until I'd gotten all pieces of it into it. Esp tried to keep it abstract so I could post it on my facebook w/o ppl knowing what I was talking about.

I wrote a lot of prose when I was struggling with my gender issues. It was quite therapeutic and flowed out of my heart.  Thank you for sharing.
