Post by: El on September 08, 2009, 04:09:16 AM
I was on spriro for a non-TG related illness at athe age of about 14 and was wondering what affects i might have got from it. At the time i didnt realise it was used on transexuals, if i did i wouldnt have let them take me off it XD

Well, hopefully the first effect of the drug was to cure whatever was wrong with you!

If you did not notice anything at the time, then there probably wasn't much effect (outwardly).  The only long term effect of spiro is testosterone reduction.  Often, if you discontinue its use, testosterone production will return.  In some cases it won't.  A quick sperm test (count and motility) would tell you what you status is.  It *might* have made you sterile, or not.  It depends on a lot of factors, especially how long you took it.

hi El, I thought your post was cute  ;)

We also use it in doses that aren't usually given for things like blood pressure and hypokalemia. My mother actually takes more than I do for her moustache, lol,  but as far as I know she doesn't have testicles to damage. I say nuke em baby!
Anyway If your doctor didn't know you were trans I doub't she would order that much spiro for you.
