Hey all,
Ive been on T for 5months now and I havnt had the 'monthly'; for about 2/3months. About 4days ago I started to get those cramps and the following day when i went to use the toilet and was finishing up there it was, only a very tiny amount and this went on for around 3/4days...Has this happened to anyone else? i thought once it stopped it STOPPED period. Now i'm all freaked that somethings wrong with the T, i dont have enough? too much?
That leads me on to another thing. Ive herad that its protocol that before starting hormones your doc checks your blood levels and every few months he'll check to make sure the dosgae is correct. When i started my doc never even mentioned anything about one, just started straight on the hormones. Its been 5months now and it doesnt even look like one is going to be done. I asked him last time I saw him (2weeks ago) and he said only if im worried about the side effects then maybe i should have one but its not necessary.... ???

ive had this happen to me sporadically. i think i might have too much T.
it doesnt seem like a good thing if your doc isnt too worried about your levels... everyone is different. my was on the generally accepted "standard dose" and his blood tests came out way high.

I've had an experience and I'm thinking it's not normal. I had the monthly right before starting T (the placebo week of the pill). Of course I stopped taking birth control pills because I would be starting T soon. I had another monthly the week I first started T. I was started on a really low dose and it's been gradually increased.
I've read how some guys are on T for months & months before their monthly stopped, but that was my last one. During the time it should have happened again I was still on a lower dose but nothing. Haven't had one since.
As for blood tests I had to have a blood panel done before starting T. The endo believes I've reached the T dosage I should keep taking and don't increase it anymore. Six weeks from reaching the target dosage I go to get another blood test done (a little over 3 months into T).
I find it concerning your doctor hasn't done any blood tests. They're not just to check your T levels. The doctor also monitors other hormone levels, liver function, blood sugar levels, cholesterol, etc. I believe most doctors like you to get blood tests every 3 months the first year. I think after that the norm is every 6 months. But each doctor is different and there are other variables like health issues and such. Not knowing your T levels or what T is doing to your body is dangerous. Plus, if your T levels are too high it turns to E. I find it neglectful and dangerous that your doctor doesn't have you get any blood work done. Has he worked with other transpeople before?

he has worked with a few trans ppl before. He use to work in the special sex clinic here in HK that dealt mainly with trans ppl then he went private. Another trans guy i know told me that i rly need to get it checked and i agree but i just dont have the cash atm to get it done. I started straight on sustanon every 3weeks which im assuming is the standard dose. When i have enough cash i'll have to go and get it done.

My doc just checks blood for liver function etc and doesn't look at levels, just at behavior - says if I find myself getting into bar fights tell her and we'll decrease the dose!
