Sept. 23 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. businesses would be banned from firing workers because of their sexual orientation or gender identity under legislation considered today by a House of Representatives committee.

The bill would prohibit discrimination based on actual or perceived sexual orientation of an employee, adding to existing prohibitions of bias against people for their sex, religion, race or national origin. Companies with 15 or more employees would be covered.

omg this would be great even though they could still build a case against you based on alleged proformance issue once the the case was lodged as possible gender related it would make any firing appear to be retalitory i hope the legislation passes.
