Title: If a 6 turned out to be 9, I don't mind...
Post by: Bellaon7 on September 25, 2009, 07:51:46 PM
I was getting on the bus after a Traider Joe's(the best little place I've found in a big place) grocery spree & the guy in front of me PAID full fare & as I set my much used bags down to pay my fair the driver blocked the coin slot w/one hand &  handed me a 24hr pass w/the other. I said ty while bowing my head. This has happened a couple of times recently on this bus route. I had thought it coincidence & there was a buildup of overpayment & I just got lucky, but this time I realized that it was the same driver & he was going out of his way to show me kindness. Does any one else expirience this from time to time from strangers? Makes me feel silly for being such a passionate whiner.

It does feel good when someone does something nice  :) Whether it's remembering what you like, giving a compliment or giving you a break on something. You never know who it might be

Most recent I asked the butcher how fresh the carne asada was made. She helped me pick out a roast, sliced it up and added the marinade fresh for me. Then she marked it at nearly half price. I wanted to give her a big hug  :icon_chick:

I love when things like this happen, but I'm usually at a loss how to respond.  I have gone through some desparate times when I had to rely on the kindness of strangers.  Now that I'm not desparate I try to remember that to pass it along the line.  People can be really kind (and really sh**s, too).  It is the unexpected kindnesses that are so touching.

How nice for you, Bella.  The world is a better place when we treat each other nicely.

It's a weird spot where I am. I'm not a vindictive or viscious person. I wear a walkman usless I may need to interact. I miss much of what's said of me by others & am just cold to any of that, it just doesn't evoke any emotion. But when people who know what I am & go out of their way to accommodate me cuz of that, it's not like I have to balance the "Karma" out, yet it catches me off guard & I can only say ty while bowing my head. It's like a missing link w/in missing links that can't be made sense of in a proper way, only say ty in the most respectful of ways.

Last month there was an outfit I wanted and I thought I had the money...But like always...

The dreaded tax came in and I was 47 cents off and the guy still wouldn't let me have it! =[

But the guy behind me was like, "Here, young lady take this dollar and buy what you need!"

I toke it and said, "Thank you so much!"

He just smiled...

I bought what I needed and left;

But that felt so good that someone actually cared to help a complete stranger! :]

I really don't want to post this because it may make look at what I am not.

I was behind an elderly lady at the supermarket last Christmas. She ran out of money for what was obviously a single persons Christmas lunch, the check girl was very young and didn't know what to do. I just passed the cash and said "Happy Christmas" .

She was a bit teary, but nothing like the check girl, she was bawling. I felt great, the lady got her Christmas lunch, and the young girl had a story to spread.

Sudden Acts of Kindness.

Firmly believe in them

Cindy, whose mail box is now open to recieve cash donations to give to my very upset credit card a holiday. It's been thinking of the French fashion week. Fat chance CC

I gave a co-worker $2 so she could shove a pie in our boss's face for charity.  Does that count as a random act of kindness?  ;D

Seriously, though, it's nice when people go out of their way to be helpful.   Sounds to me, though, as if your bus driver may have a little crush.   ;)

I wish I could chalk it up to that if he was cute & within my age range, but he's 70-80 aged & knows I'm t/s. That actually makes me feel even better inside! I wish I could just give him a big hug!

Well, Bella, a little peck on the cheek might be acceptable.  ;)  And he sounds pretty cute to me. :D

Yes, but can you imagine the shame if people got the wrong idea & though I was trying to attack a helpless(yet quite spry) old man?

Maybe you could find out what kinda treats he likes and show up with some.

I'm sure no-one would get the wrong idea. They would just think your showing some appreciation to a kindly elderly person
