Heya ^^
So ive being trying to find more about getting more female looking hips. But i CAN'T seem to get a answer thats the same were ever i go. =( So my question is, what makes your hips more female looking. Will HRT do it? Will surgry do it??? Will it depend on the age you start HRT.
Thanks all!

You can't.
HRT will move some fat there over time, which can help a little (and depends entirely on genetics, so no way to say if it will or won't happen and to what degree).
There is no surgery to do such.
Age has some impact -- if you start before puberty has fixed that particular.
There is one thing, but it is dangerous and has long term consequences -- so much so that I am categorically opposed to it, but that's illegal silicone injections through the underground.

Well, you technically have a good chance of getting wider hips on HRT up until about age 21 or so, when the growth plates close. Male puberty doesn't affect it.

1. You can buy Padded hips online.
2. HRT: I am on HRT for 3 months now and my hips have really increased.
3. And THERE IS a surgery for this that I've discovered from Thailand, it's Buttocks + Hips Augmentation.
Check this link out http://thailandplasticsurgery.com/en/buttock-implant-thailand.php (http://thailandplasticsurgery.com/en/buttock-implant-thailand.php)

That is an un true statement. You can get a fat graph where they lipo one sector of your body as donor fat and then they graft it to an area you want. The procedure usually accepts 80% of the fat over time.
A skilled doctor can give you somewhat of a brazillian buttlift with this procedure to complete the bottom area of the feminine structure.
The lipo runs about $3000CDN and graft is about $1200CDN in some area's. With the lipo + graft you get two benefits, a lipo'd area aka tummy area, and fat graft to your hips if you choose to have it there.
There is also a gummy bear type implant for the glute's however, they look unnatural if you have tight skin in that area. These implants are not so bad if overall you have some kind of fat surrounding your hips.
Hope this helps

Please,
Bone and fat are too separated things,
Even though bone might not change at the people over 25 years of age or so (was it that? I remember hips sealed at about 24, but I could be wrong)
There is usually quite a bit of fat moving to the hips giving a more feminine look, I doubt it is true, or it might be rarely true, that nothing really happens.
If someone can give a clear age for the bone change limit, it would help.

It's supposed to be about 21 for the hips. However, I'm 25 and I've gotten a bit of bone growth, and it's still going on.

Hi!
I was just editing my post when I saw an email saying you replied.
Yes, I was just trying to find that, I remember in people who did not go through female puberty, the hip bones seal quite later in life, I heard some people say numbers like after 30 or up to 45, but I am having doubts about that late numbers.
How do you know it is bone growth and not just fat?
Anyways, what I wanted to add:
Currently I have quite a bit more fat at the back of my hips, I am not sure if a lot more than before or not.
At the sides of my hips, not so much, I can touch bone quite instantly I think.
I don't know how it is supposed to be and if you should even have fat at the sides or hippy girls instantly touch bone too.
Maybe someone else can answer that?
I am not sure, but according to my boyfriend they are about the same width as my shoulders, maybe 2cm difference, not sure which side?
But then I'd think, will it change the way we walk? what makes girls wiggle? people say the hips, I am not sure I wiggle, but not every girl wiggles too.
I was told I sometimes wiggle O_o
It is not completely true that you can't do anything about the bones either btw, I think those might never fuse, but some parts of them might behave differently.
In puberty, the bones which widen are the pubic bones for example, that is done by the cartilage holding them together stretching and ossifying, creating more bone.
But, as far as I remember, the pubic are not entirely bone, most thing which stretches there is cartilage.
during pregnancy relaxin hormone causes widening of the hips too, affecting this cartilage again its seems.
After pregnancy the change stays and as far as I remember most of it turns into bone too.
So maybe there is a way to do it, but maybe in addition to relaxin you'd need some force like the womb pushing there or the baby, something might be possible but who knows :)
But anyhow, back to subject, I think pubic widening is possible even at quite an adult age.

I can feel the bones much more easily than I could a year ago, and I can put my hands on my hips - the bones - now. I never used to be able to do that, since my hips were the narrowest part of my body. They look wider to my eye, and I've been told I'm starting to wiggle ;). Also, I keep getting little pains in that general area, and in the hip joints, which I think might be due to growth.

To enhance the "wiggle", keep your knees close together and walk one foot in line with the other.

Yes, some of it is fat and stuff like that, but yeah *pokes* they're pretty solid. *shrugs* I know, I know, T-folk are gonna tell me that it's impossible, etc, etc, etc. I don't know, maybe I'm a mutant. My right hip silhouette is a lot more shapely than my left. Not that I have much shape anyway from my spine, but I'll take what I can get. I'm wondering if it's got anything to do with driving (gas/break pedal) toning the upper outside thigh right at the pelvis. Anyone notice anything similar? ???

I have to note that I was, expressly, thinking in terms of bone.
Fat deposits do indeed function to change such, and, as one person noted, hey can be pretty darned firm, lol. I have decent hips (much to my surprise) after time and migration, and this is why I noted the point of genetics -- I may have started late, and I may have gained some, but my family body type is note sort to produce sharply pronounced hips. And it would probably help if I had a little lipo in the tummy area, lol.
So, to that extent, you are right, there are indeed surgeries (and that is only one example -- a good plastic surgeon can suggest others) that can give the appearance of such and adapt the non bone parts.

HRT doesn't do it for everyone. My friend has been on HRT for 17 years and has no hips and I have been on HRT for 10 years and have no hips or female fat re-distribution. Also many TS's I've met personally also have not achieved this either. Probably intense excercise may help but if you are skinny and not endomophic it's a tall order.

You can also do bone fusion which generally cost 5-7K per hip the technique is very much near alike like a hip transplant, you are left with permanent scarring though.

I am not sure if it is related, I some part of the hip bones about an inch above my belly button and about as wide or tiny bit narrower than my ribs.. it looks kinda weird because most of my fat is still around my waist :X
Is it normal? I mean, at all :X someone told me it's weird.
I barely have space between that bone and the ribs because it's so wide, probably not much of a waist for me :X

Isn't that the hip bone? Are you saying your hip bones are above your belly button?

I am not sure if it's related to masculine/feminine, the only other person I met that has the same shape was a ftm/gender queer pre-t, most my friends and mom and her boyfriend have it just about the same as belly button or below, while the guys tend to have it below.
I think it's more related to a short torso.
Then again I also kinda doubt my hips are broad in any way as they might should be, which is a bit more of a female/male hips marker than where the illiac rest is.
Although I am quite happy with the body measurements 2.5 months after estrogen (5.5-8 if you count the 3-4 months I took estrogen over a year ago), and they are probably just going to improve.
Post Merge: October 04, 2009, 08:47:04 PM
What contributes to this kind of shape if it's not the position of the hips anyways?

It looks as if her hips extend quite high, although maybe a bit narrow too? would you count her as triangle shape or hourglass?
I have that same thing, just with more fat on my waistline at the same time :D

Well the iliac crests are most of the pelvis, then there's the true pelvis and the sacrum. So it's very much a gender marker.
And she looks like a straight hourglass figure.
I said it's masculine because male hips go higher than women's hips and usually the fat collects above them. I'm guessing what you look like from the description because there's no picture. I could probably go on for days on physical gender differences.

You could be right, probably are, I doubt I had enough estrogen until lately for any good changes to happen for the pelvis. But I still think short torso can affect it even more (I did encounter females with the pelvis bone ending higher than the belly button).
But still, it seems to look ok :)
Maybe a bit narrow, but there isn't much (if at all) of fat at the sides of it, though I don't think there is going to be much fat at the sides of the pubic bones and much at the crest anyways, probably just near it.

"It's supposed to be about 21 for the hips. However, I'm 25 and I've gotten a bit of bone growth, and it's still going on."
That's a relief to hear, I started my hormones back in May and I'm 21. At nearly five months in I've gotten some hip growth, but not really enough to offset my shoulders yet.

Well I know I have always had them and a butt, from my teen years on up. Traditional mens jeans never fit me, I always wore loose fit or baggy ones otherwise everything was always really tight in the seat and thighs. (mens jeans generally didn't have any stretch in them.) Now I don't have a really wide pelvis. But I do have very round and full hips. For reference, pre-HRT my measurements were 35-29-39. Granted that middle number was higher back when I let myself go. It's been only 6 months so I haven't remeasured them yet.
I do get asked all the time how I create them, all I can simply tell people is they are mine. ;D
Now if I just didn't have these cursed wide shoulders. :(

I think hips is one of those things where there is a lot of overlap between men and women (not talking about fat! lol). The highest part of my hip bones are still under my belly button, but I'm 5'10" so don't know if height has anything to do with it. I do know that any weight I gain these days goes straight to breasts and hips, and I have a definite waistline now whereas I used to be straight up and down in there.

I think there might just be a chance hips still develop.
I remember reading hips bones never really fuse and if they do it's at the 30s or even 40s.
It's usually stays quite a bit as cartilage and flexible.
I could be wrong and I can't remember where I read that.
I am really curious about making a statistics thread with a poll to see the results.
Edit:

Easiest differences to spot:
Bigger wider opening in females.
Pubic bones are wider in females, extending left to right, males have small (see the eyes at each pubic bone) space there, they are narrowed left to right, sometimes taller (top to bottom)
Triangle (space at the bottom, middle) in between both pubic bones (left and right pubic bones) is greater than 90 degrees in females, smaller in males.
Iliac crest (the two top "wing" structures at each side) is broader and rounder in females.
Not sure if there is any true height differences but it might.
I remember reading hips bones never really fuse and if they do it's at the 30s or even 40s.
It's usually stays quite a bit as cartilage and flexible.
I could be wrong and I can't remember where I read that.
I am really curious about making a statistics thread with a poll to see the results.
Edit:
QuoteI think hips is one of those things where there is a lot of overlap between men and women

Any tips, I have no hips? I wish I had hips and I feel a decade on HRT was a complete waste of time.

There are some exercises that can add a little to the hips and butt, but not a lot.

Yes the pelvis is very different but I wasn't referring to bone structure just fat distribution/general outer appearance. A gg's pelvis has to spread to accomodate childbirth, which can still occur at least into 40's. I actually knew a woman who had a child at age 52, but I think that's kind of rare and it probably hurt like hell; I didn't ask lol

Padding does the trick, but of course, it's only an illusion...
Not all of us are lucky enough to have the full hourglass, not least of all hips wider than our shoulders.
I admit to having a good cry over this from time to time, but what else can be done?
What a fragile thing in life are dreams...

there was a profession ballet friend of mine who once mentioned to me that an incorrect practicing stance may widen the hip, which was actually undesirable. but i've forgotten what stance it was...

You can also do bone fusion which generally cost 5-7K per hip the technique is very much near alike like a hip transplant, you are left with permanent scarring though.

I've found riding/exercising on recumbent cycle helps target the hip and butt area. Recumbents use different cycling technique to conventional cycles and, at least with me, it's caused my glutes and whatever muscles there are around the hip area to increase in size. It also helps maintain a flatter core so I get a good effect from this. The other thing that can be tried is Pilates exercises to target these specific areas.

I'm ten months into HRT on Sunday 3rd November. Since past year my hips have definitely been growing with the 10lbs of fat I've gained. Hormones take awhile but they definitely will work in giving you a more feminine figure.

You can also do multi-planar work on your glutes to round out the whole shape.
