Do you bind?
If so, what do you use to bind?
Does it work well, and give a good effect?
(An ace bandage, tape, sports bra, layered clothing, binder, etc.)
Here's a collection of places you can buy a binder, or the like.
Big brother used binder program, for those who are low income.

Have you bought from any of these stores or used any of their products?
Which do you recommend/don't you recommend?
What have your experiences been with binding?

I bind.
I have a couple of binders from Underworks that were selflessly donated my way by a member of this forum and I will forever owe him a deep debt of gratitude cause I would have been all "can't afford, get later" still without that gesture.
And naturally, if they're not all worn out by the time I don't need them any more, I'll be paying it forward. Heck, I might even donate $s instead to a friend in need... After I don't need 'em anymore.
They work great for me. But then, I've got a very soft and pliable chest, inspite being a DD, due to having had a child in the past.

Do you bind?
- Yes
If so, what do you use to bind?
- A speedo top I got for $2 at Salvation Army, a high end sports bra I got for $4 at Goodwill, and 2 $10 Wal-Mart sports bras that are getting tired now.
Does it work well, and give a good effect?
- None of 'em really do, the Speedo's probably the best and that's not saying much. Luckily I'm not large and the right clothing helps.
Big brother used binder program, for those who are low income.
- I'd not mind trying these guys out, I'd like to try a real binder.
Have you bought from any of these stores or used any of their products?
- Nope can't afford it right now.
What have your experiences been with binding?
- Just wearing what I have.

Do you bind?
I do.
If so, what do you use to bind?
An Underworks 997 compression shirt, folded over.
Does it work well, and give a good effect?
It does though it's stretching alarmingly fast - I think I read somewhere that putting it in the dryer on high returns it to it's original size. I may have to try that soon, or lose my manly chest xD

Wow, lucky.
Really? That's weird, everyone I hear that's bigger says they have trouble, but I guess having a child would contribute to that.

I'm 6'2 too, so the DD's don't look as huge on me as they look on Dolly Parton. They look more like C's if anything.
And they're all soft and pliable.
Just goes to show, "size alone" says little. ;)

I think mine's starting to go out too. I've heard putting it in the dryer actually loosens the fibers and they wear out quicker.

I just ordered model 1700 from T-kingdom and the double compression shirt or something from underworks. I'm excited to try them~ I'm thinking of returning my T-kingdom one if it doesn't work AMAZINGLY. 70$ is too much for me :c Starving college student, FTL.
I'll post again once I get one of them.

I bind, but in recent months it's become a bit of a train wreck o_O
I have a T-Kingdom 980 model - it did the job fine until the first wash, when the sides of the elasticky-binding bit started to stick outwards. I've ended up wearing the binder to flatten out my chest, then taping down the sides with surgical tape, to keep my chest looking smooth. Don't do this guys. I know it's easier said than done, and I still do it in 'emergencies' (e.g. wearing a tank top counts as an emergency to me...), but I now have two symmetrical patches of dry skin near my armpits ¬¬ I'm still using it, but just wearing a tight cami top over the binder and under my regular clothes.
It does flatten my chest out quite well, but I think it's because I'm only an A cup anyway, I can't see it working for anything bigger. I could get pictures if anyone would find it helpful...?

Do you bind?
When I'm actively trying to pass; my method is tedious and tiring and I usually only do it when I'm really fed up with being in the wrong body.
If so, what do you use to bind?
In order of 1st on to last: Cup bra w/underwire, sports bra from Walmart, duct or packing tape, another sports bra to smooth out irregularities
Does it work well, and give a good effect?
Works well enough, mostly because I'm short and kinda chunky and what's left of the squishy D-cup tumors is disguised under an A-shirt and button-up shirt
Have you bought from any of these stores or used any of their products?
I've been wanting to try the Frog Bra and also one of the T-Kingdoms (801 or 1480 maybe), but as I'm a poor college student I can't afford anything right now.
What have your experiences been with binding?
My method is fine when it's all I can do and when I have a supply of clean A-shirts and button-up shirts, but it SUCKS when I'm in a hurry and only have t-shirts left. Overall, I'd rather make my feeble attempt at disguising my moobs than let them stick out all womanly-like.

From all the research I've done, I've found this model binder with this company to be most popular.
Altough I've heard mixed reviews about it.
Cons:
If not tucked in right, it rides up and cuts into you.
Your moobs may stick out the sides at your armpits.
The stitching shows through.
The mid section binding is too tight.
It wears out fast, and loses its elasticity.
It doesn't bind enough.
Pros:
It binds well.
Its undetectable.
Its not too tight.
Anyone with some more insight on this product?
I've been wanting to buy one myself. I've researched everything I've mentioned, and have come to the conclusion that these work best for the price.
If the big brothers program doesn't have one available in my size, ill have to ask my best friend if she can buy me one.

Im guessing the differences in the reviews were due to:
The persons chest size.
The persons weight and height proportion.
The size of the binder.

Cons:
If not tucked in right, it rides up and cuts into you.
I don't tuck it in my underwear but wear it over my underwear. I couldn't stand it tucked in. I've found that wearing a tank top underneath the binder and using a belt keeps it from rolling up past my underwear. Lately it's not been rolling up much at all even without a belt. I don't know if this is because of fat redistribution or something else.
Your moobs may stick out the sides at your armpits.
This is what I hate the most, but it happens with my other Underworks binder style too. I think I'm just SOL on that one.
The stitching shows through.
I've not had this problem much, and I wear average to tighter shirts most of the time. You can sometimes see the binder curve over the top front over the moobs. I don't know if it's a giveaway or just seems like you're wearing a tank top underneath.
The mid section binding is too tight.
I find it quite comfy.
It wears out fast, and loses its elasticity.
I don't really know how long they're supposed to last. I got a new one because my older one- after around 5 months of daily wear- wasn't binding as well, but it still works.
It doesn't bind enough.
I think it does a decent job. It's not perfect, but because of the size and density of my moobs that's just not going to happen.

Yes I bind, I use 2 things, my double compression tank top, that only has compression on the top.. not at the bottom.. my stomach doesn't have boobs! lol
I also use a 1 layer compression vest.. I cut it so that it only binds on the top.. I use this one when wearing baggy shirts, or a button down.. or sometimes for around the dorm when I feel insecure.
both work pretty well, they are underworks.. the vest shows the texture of the fish eye loops, so you need to layer

Yes, I bind, and as a note to every guy on here thinking about drying an Underworks binder in the dryer... DON'T DO IT!!! I did that with mine for months, only to find that they wore out and got holes after about a month or two. I've been using the same binder for over a year now, and while it's a bit stretched out and doesn't fit great due to my weight loss, it's still intact. I wash it on normal cycle in the washer, then air-dry it. It's basically what they're now calling the microfiber concealer compression tee. The ones I like best, which I used prior to running out of money, are the cotton concealer tees. I used to get the muscle tees, but they can rub your armpits raw, so I'd suggest one with sleeves, if you're leaning that way. I'm about to buy some new binders, and I know T-Kingdom ones are supposed to be better than Underworks, but I'm with Morgan... I'm a starving student, and I really can't afford a $70 binder.
By the way, I'm about a 36 B/C, and the binder I have, despite being slightly big on me, flattens the bitch tits. Just make sure you're pushing them down and toward the sides of your torso, and you should be good.

Moobs sticking out at the sides by the armpits is what makes 'em moobs instead of pecs. If there was some garment that didn't squeeze the moobs down so much as shape 'em, into pec shape, that would be a very good thing. Cisguys, almost all of them, carry quite an amount of mass on their chests, it's amazing. Fat cisguys have a sort of moob situation, too. But fit cisguys are either very flat and thin, typically those are very young, or have pecs that amount to the same cubic mass as our moobs, just in a different shape.

I've been saying that forever, Alex. When I push mine down and to the sides, they look about as close to a male chest, with binder on, as I think I can get with current technology. I have a binder that's a size too big, and they do squeeze out the sides on it, but with the one I wear currently, they don't. The sleeves are sufficient to constrain anything.
CCC, I got a medium last time I bought binders. At the time, I weighed 250 (I'm 5'6"). Now I'm down to 200, and the medium is pretty loose on me, so I'm thinking I'll get smalls when I order the new ones. Don't know if this helps with relation in sizing, but my waist before, when I got the medium, was about 40", and I was a 38 B/C (I know, that part hasn't changed much). My waist now is 34". What I'm pretty sure works when ordering from Underworks is to take your measurements as they suggest, then buy the size below what they suggest. That's what I did, and it tends to work with everything but the Double Front Compression binder. I bought a couple of those awhile back, and not only were they nearly too tight to get on, but they were miserably uncomfortable.

I used to have an underworks binder. Even though it was tight I never thought it hurt. It was perfect for me and then my mother took it away from me. I tried just wearing a sports bra but it didnt work. I felt disgusting and people could see my breasts. I now wear two sports bra at once. Its not perfect but under casual inspection my chest looks male.

I'm sorry your mom took it away, that blows, did she throw it away too? Maybe you can take it back and replace it with something similar looking lol

Judging by the double fronts I got, I'd say go with the size the site tells you to.

Okay, so I was doing some unpacking (yes, 2 months after moving in) and found the binders that were too small for me. Turns out, the microfiber concealer whatever was a medium, which means I've been wearing a large all this time. The cotton concealer muscle tees must have been the mediums I wore, because I remember buying mediums initially.
However, this gives me the opportunity to perhaps be kind to those of you who really need binders but are poor, because these two binders I found do NOT fit me, even now, and it's way too late (like by 2 years) to send them back. So... I have a microfiber concealer T-shirt and a double front compression vest. Both are medium, I'm guessing, because only the microfiber has a tag. I've never worn them, just tried my damnedest to pull them over my head and failed. They're both black. Since I know there are quite a few guys on here who need them, I'd prefer to send each to a separate person. I'm good sending them off free of charge, if you'll just pay the shipping, since I'm poor, and be patient with me, because it could take up to a week after you contact me with shipping info for me to actually get to the post office. Let me know, guys.

Sebastian I think they are too big for me at 5'4" and 150+ (!) lbs that's more muscle than fat, pic I'm using as an avatar is taken last week.
I think when I'm ready I'll just send off for some 997's, you get a price break for 3 of them at a time. Comes under $100 with shipping. The thing is, now we're heading into winter ... that means more layers so I may be able to push it off into Spring.

Right-o.
I'm 5'5", 150lbs, and last time I tried on a bra it was a 36C. I do all my laundry by hand, and either line-dry or rack-dry it; I wouldn't recommend dryer-ing anything made primarily out of spandex. The heat's no good for it.
I have an 801 zip-front from T-kingdom, and it wasn't worth the money I paid. At all. It's great for around the house; I might be able to wear it under a loose button-down shirt; but sure as hell not under a t-shirt. It's also frustrating that even with an undershirt between it and whatever else I'm wearing, there's a little bump where the zipper is. Yes, even medium-knit sweaters. Great for dealing with chest-dysphoria, not so great for trying to pass. Maybe if moobs were all I had against me.
The binder I use for daily activities is the 997(?) double-front from underworks, which has chest and stomach compression. It's an XS, and the first week I wore it, it was only for a few hours at a time. I had to wear a skin underneath it (lightweight slick sports compression shirt) and my partner helped physically wrangle it on over my head. I needed the help; when I tried to get it on myself, I ended up tearing the skin off the back of my shoulders. Ouch. Yes, it was too small. After a week of that, we could both get it on me without anything under it; or I could get it on myself if I stepped into it. I'd pull it up backwards, up over my hips, and then turn it inside-out as I pulled it up the rest of the way, so it'd be on right. After another two weeks (a month in total) I could get it on myself over my head and now only have trouble on days when my shoulders are really sore.
It was worth the work stretching it out; it's wonderful now, binds well (but not too much on the stomach) and as a bonus has improved my posture because I'm not slumping to hide my chest. If I pull them up and out just a bit, so the nipples are where they'd be on a cis-guy, I have what I've been told is a very realistic chest-shape for a young man.
Definitely recommend the double-front, and order it small. It was worth the work, and works beautifully.

Im looking forward to that, to straighten my sides out a bit(I've got a bit of baggage) :[... also I have heard bad reviews about tkingdom, that their quality is not worth their price compared to underworks.

I'm 5'5 145 lbs. My chest is a large A/small B. I have the Underworks 983 Tri-Top in a size small. I had the same experience as Cody...the first few weeks, getting it on was really rough. I tore the skin off all my knuckles trying to pull it up from my feet up. I still can't get it on over my head. It makes my chest look quite passable and I'm very pleased with it. It's the shorter one so it kind of looks like a bra if you're just wearing it, but I don't really mind. This binder has two small problems that I've encountered. Sometimes the hem on the neck sticks out some and makes a weird bulge in my shirt. I always wear it with a t-shirt over it, then whatever other shirt I'm wearing that day. It works with everything from t-shirts to sweaters to button downs. The other problem is that if you have a bit of a gut or wide hips, it can accentuate them because it stops right at the top of your belly. Other than those two small problems, I'm very happy with the tri-top, but am still curious as to how it would compare to the other binders you guys are talking about. Oh, I also have the problem that was mentioned, how the moobs stick out the arm holes and make a weird fat shape. I don't like it but I don't think it's incredibly noticeable. That's just my opinion!

Do you bind?
-Yes.
If so, what do you use to bind?
-Flat sports bra from Walmart (I got 4 for $10... it was a good deal) & combined with a tight spandex body shaper top that I got a longgg time ago.
Does it work well, and give a good effect?
-It only works well with baggy clothes. If I'm nervous or stressed, I have a hard time taking deep breaths wearing all of it.
I'm thinking of getting the 801 from tkingdom despite the zipper issue dealy just to start. It's going to be my Christmas present to myself. Maybe.

I was 140lbs in the summertime when I first got the binder, and after writing that post, got on the scale... and I'm actually 160lbs now, not 150... and all my pants from 20 and 30 lbs ago still fit fine when I'm binding. So, I'd say the stomach compression is excellent. I honestly didn't know I'd put on 20 lbs.
I wear the underworks 4 or 5 days a week, and the t-kingdom 2 or 3; and it's wearing out faster. It was about twice the price. Yeah, I'd say it's not worth it's money. Then again, I'm sort of large-chested, I guess? So it could depend on the shape of the person who's wearing it. I'm finding that it doesn't bind much at all anymore, and it's only been a few months. The underworks one has only just now broken in well, by comparison.

I rarely bind, having nothing but sports bras and an ace bandage. The ace bandage caused my ribs hell, as well as sliding around, so I stopped using that.
I also would layer two or three sports bras but I've lost some weight lately, so they no longer compress. I'm like... an A or something at the moment.
There was also bike shorts at some point, with the crotch cut out, worn like a tee shirt but that stretched out and stopped working after a while.
Most bio guys with my build are completely flat chested, so the whole 'making pecs' thing wouldn't be of any use to me.
Currently, I'm trying to find a friend to order me a binder,

I've heard a lot about the tri-top, that it works well for bigger chests.
But the gut part is why i don't want a "bra" styled binder, maybe once I work out and lose enough weight, but for now I don't want it showing even more.

When I first started looking at binders, t-kingdom was my first option. They're expensive, but they seemed of exceptional quality and I hadn't known of underworks yet.
Then I heard of underworks, and I checked them out. Read some reviews, researched them a bit. And decided to go with them.
They are wayyyy less $$ and they're in the US. I've also heard better things about underworks than t-kingdom.

Quote from: ccc on November 04, 2009, 03:40:33 PMSo how was your first time binding? How was the experience of wearing your first binder? Did you need help putting it on?I didn't have anyone to help me put it on the first time. It was too small and the outcome was disastrous. I couldn't even get it over my shoulders. I wrestled with the thing so much I got rub burns and bruises on my arms, neck, shoulders and back. I (finally) realized this thing just wasn't going on so I exchanged it for one size up. Much better.
I had to wrestle with it some but it wasn't too bad. As time goes on it will be easier to put it on and take it off (even with a new one) since you get the hang of it. Wearing something underneath the binder- like a tank top- makes it easier to put on and take off. The Double Compression was tight feeling at first- especially around the chest. You'll learn how to move the moobs around for optimal binding. It made my breathing feel different but not suffocating. It takes some getting used to but I find mine comfortable while still binding well.

I did buy a binder online and damned if I can't remember from who. I don't even know where the thing is because I tried to try it on and the thing was so tight I couldn't get it over my shoulders. I bought like a 3X size or what have you but damn... I'm like a 48DD so it's hard to keep from showing them :-\

I have a 997 double front from underworks and I love it, I've bought 3 997 (small)so far I think and 1 988(X-small, I bought a small first which is my usual size but for some reason it was really loose so I exchanged it. When I am trying to get really flat I wear one 997 and then my 988 or 2 997s over each other. I always wear a white beater underneath and then a smaller beater over top(if I am wearing 2) to cover up that awkward collar sticking up thing. And then a white undershirt and then my normal clothes. I love the 997 but I can't wear the 988 without another underneath because it just doesn't bind as well. And as far as the 997 rolling up I actually help that if I am wearing enough layers that you can't see the crinkles in the fabric it actually makes it look like i don't have hips because it fills the gap of that annoying curve.
I'm a 34B/C (I never really ever bought a bra so that's a guesstimation.) I'm also 5'2" and 110 pounds so my tumors look gigantic without binding.

We are basically the same overall size, im short as well.
Im for sure going for the 997 in small, just not sure on the color yet. I don't have the money to even buy one, but if I did id buy 3.

If you would like to try one out, I could send you one of my older ones, they really aren't stretched out I was just paranoid about them not working as well, I will wash it a few times in cold water to help them shrink back up from the imaginary stretching. I know how it feels to not be able to afford one. PM me if you are interested.

I now wear two sports bra at once. Its not perfect but under casual inspection my chest looks male.
I'm kinda stuck with that (stupid age thing, stupid parent thing..stupid genetics. Stupid a lot of things)
Self-sticking bandage don't work. I get a rash in a few minutes from that (the kind that it's like "dude, get that off now BEFORE you get issues) =|
::)

Couldn't you pull "medical reasons" to at least get a reduction to something hide-able?

Do you bind?
Yes. I recently got my first binder (not even a week ago) and have started wearing it every day.
If so, what do you use to bind?
I've got an underworks 997. i thinks it's also called the double front.
Does it work well, and give a good effect?
I works well enough. I'm a 44DD so it's not going to be perfect, but it makes me a bit better, unless it starts to roll up. It does that occasionally if i move around too much. I wear a sports bra under it, because I can never seem to get the moobs in an even position.

It would've been better for you to make a new thread rather than necro'ing an old one. I'd make a thread in the FTM Gear section if I were you. (it brings more attention to your question too)

I bind occasionally. I use a double-front compression shirt from Underworks (a member on here passed it on to me and they're really cool and I'm so grateful for it) that I double-up because I don't like it on my stomach because of how tight it feels on it. I, however, have gained chest size (I'm back to a DD) and I'm trying to lose that size again because I want to be able to wear my binder. If I fail, however, I'm willing to send it on to someone else.

I bind every day with an underworks 983 tri-top.
I was lucky enough to get it from the big brothers binder program a year ago I think. Nick is a great guy and I'm very grateful. I have around a DD chest now I think and it's a medium. It worked great for the longest but in the last month it's begun to stretch out so I'll be scrounging cash together to get another one soon hopefully
Previous binder: I bought a 978 from underworks about 6 months ago. Didn't work for me at all so I tried to cut it into a tank-top style and removed the cotton side from it but it didn't help much. Pretty much useless in my case.

i want to buy a binder from underworks.
my size is 30.5, should i get the small or x-small tri top? i know you guys said to take a size under but x-small sounds really really small :o
idk ???
and btw the coupon code ''under10'' still works ;D
at least i think it does, did a couple minutes ago ^-^
Yes the coupon still works.
I think I am on the high end of a small so I could get a small or medium and I wear small. In my opinion I feel like I need an extra small. But its all in personal preference. Like for me, I wear the tritop, and I don't have a hard time getting it on n off, n im comfortable in it n I can wear it all day. The only thing that bugs me is when it pops out and the armpit fat. So if you bind and are used to tight then get an xsmall but if this is your first time go small and see how it feels. They have a good return policy if it doesn't fit right.
