I'm Ruadhan (pronounced "ROO'ahn", to those who don't speak Irish Gaelic).  I'm a FTM TS man, on HRT for over a year and post chest surgery by a nearly eighteen months.

Welcome to Susan's. I'm sure you will find many here who have walked a similar path as you have/are/will (though I'm walking the opposite way myself - MtF).

While I am Irish (decent), I unfortunately do not know a word of Gaelic. I had to look up the greeting. I do love the language and love to hear it, though my linguistic skills leave a great deal to be desired and I can't hold on to a new word, phrase, number, etc in any language for more than a few seconds.  :-\

I had to look it up, too (though I'm technically "learning" the language).

My mother's side is English and my father's side is from Belfast, so technically Ultach, not Irish.  ;-)

I'm not familiar with the term Ultach, what is it? I am all Irish on my mom's side and my father was (I think) a 'mutt', Irish, English, Scottish, maybe French and whatever (but not certain, it's only what I've been told). I seem to remember reading in my family tree that some of my mom's family was from Belfast as well. So, I guess that makes us some kind of distant cousins or some kind of something or other. :)
