Hey people

I was wondering if anyone here is going to see the new Michael Jackson movie 'This is it'?

BTW I saw the 2009 Children of the Corn movie tonight.  It's kinda scary, scarier than the first one.

I like michael Jacksons music.

But I doubt I will go and see the movie tbh.

I do hope to see it, as much out of curiousity. He wouldn't present anything other than the final product, & this may be as close as we to see into his proccess of creation.

I liked a lot of his music, but did not care much for the man himself.  will I go see the movie. No, I am not that interested in it.

I do feel for his family however.

Do you have a favorite song by him?  I liked 'Will you be there?'

From a music & choreography perspective, Jackson was brilliant.  His songs and in particular his arrangements of rhythm, bass line and pad, were simply inspired...some of them were the "zz-top" of pop, even the most ardent of non-fans sometimes has a subconscious toe-tap to his beats.

His dance moves were similarly very well done indeed, many of which have their roots in older moves but combined with his signature "spasms of precision" technique, have meant that it's become a dance genre all of its own.

So, love him, hate him or indifferent - one has to respect his talent.  As for his private life, no comment - I resist making any judgement without knowing the facts.

I totally agree.  His music and dance moves were amazing.  And me, too, as for his private life I won't pass judgement until hearing all the facts.  A part of me wants him not to have done that, but no one can be sure of it, if he did or didn't.  I guess this is one secret that went with him in death.

Myself, I really like his music, dancing, and rhythm he had.  I liked his videos too.  Thriller was my favorite, and Remember the Time was my second favorite.

All we can do now is just hope that his soul is at peace.  Because honestly, I don't want to see anyone go to 'hell'. Just my thoughts on the subject.   :)

I also find it deeply ironic that he is lionized by the black community, who would probably spit on him for his effeminate ways if he couldn't sing and dance.

I understand your reason for not being fond of him, and about the sing and dance part.  I still love his music though.  Hey there - what kind of music are you into?  I"m curious :)

A wide variety. 80s, 50s, classical, all sorts of stuff. About the only things I don't like are hip hop/rap and hard metal. Before I transitioned, my friends used to ride me for listening to "chick music." Ha! Gosh, I wonder why that was?  :laugh:

I like some hard metal, but I'm more into 80's glam bands... big hair, lotsa makeup, leather clothes and ripped pants :)

I haven't seen "This Is It" but I would have liked to. As I've grown older, I've become a lot more interested in Michael Jackson as a person. He's just such a larger than life figure, it's almost hard to believe he ever actually existed and wasn't just a fictional character, y'know?

And who cares if he touched those kids? He's friggin' Michael Jackson! Those kids loved every minute of it, I garuntee it. Heck, if MJ paid for MY cancer treatments in full (which i dont have any cuz i dont have cancer) then I'd have absolutely no problem whatsoever going around the private ferris wheel with a millionaire who looks like an anime character. Those kids were probably just mad cuz he let Culkin have more Jesus Juice than them. :P

I'm finally getting to watch "This is it" and I'm really enjoying it, though I'm feeling very sad watching it knowing that he has passed.  I really miss the man and wish he were still here today.

I like the man, always did. My childhood was ->-bleeped-<-ty, too. Love his music and want to see the movie as well.
Empathy, I guess.

I'm one of Michael's fans and his death shook me to the core of my soul. I have many fond memories of him and his music. I remember watching his music videos and learning the dance moves, I remember singing along to his songs especially Beat it and Thriller. In high school choir I remember singing Thriller in freshman year, his humanitarian work for USA for Africa was deeply touching and his We are the World single moved me to tears. Despite the controversies surrounding his life and work, he was a master artisan with a spectacular voice and theatrics that blew me away. The world has lost a bright light and he will always be with us in spirit. I haven't seen This is It yet.
