Title: Nail Polish

Hey all,
I collect nail polishes, especially limited editions, as a hobby because I think they're nice to look at and well I once wanted to be a Cosmetologist. I took classes but never went with it.
We never covered this in the course, but I was wondering - if you take eye shadow and clear nail polish, is it possible to make your own nail polish? I tried it and came up with a denim blue/gray color. Has anyone else tried to make their own?
Thanks :)

Yes, I mix MAC pigments with a clear coat like OPI that can be mixed w/o turning into paste. You can use polish remover to thin a mix, but the quality of the original clear coat goes down fast.

Cool! Thanks for replying! I didn't know about thinning it down with polish remover. I'll have to do that to mine, it's very this and it won't shake up correctly. I really appreciate your reply. Thank you for helping me out :) Take care

I'm currently looking for a clear mascara that I can mix pigments with for my own colour. The problem is most are too thick to begin with to add to. I found that baby/min oil works good as a thinner, but destabalizes the original products ability to not run. www.makeupalley.com (http://www.makeupalley.com) is the best source of info I've, found, but CAUTION: it's very hard to keep up on the forums, these girls don't mess around & don't suffer fools.

Thanks for the link Bellaon7, your right, I just cruised through and I felt like I was walking into a lioness' den, but there's a lot there to check out.
What specifically are the MAC pigments you refer to? I'd like to try and mix my own also.
