Title: Freyja Chant (Miniar Singing)

This is a chant for the Norse goddes Freyja.
The chant is actually in Swedish.
The original text says;
Freya Freya kom til oss
Freya Freya vanadis
vi kallar din megin
kom hit till oss
Freya vi kallar, kallar på dig.
Translated it says;
Freya Freya come to us
Freya Freya vana-maiden
we call for your power
come her to us
Freya we're calling, calling for you.
The Swedish text is close enough to what it "would" be in Icelandic, if I were to translate it to that I'd probably change just the last three lines to;
við áköllum mátt þinn
kom þú til oss
Freya við köllu, köllum á þig
or something like that..
Anyways, I picked this up in Sweden some three years ago and today, in a moment of sheer boredom and absentminded creativity, I recorded it, played with the recording in my mac's Garage Band and I got this: http://www.4shared.com/file/146045074/ae768bbf/Freyja_Chant.html (http://www.4shared.com/file/146045074/ae768bbf/Freyja_Chant.html)
Since I'm going to Reykjavík in 2 weeks for my T I decided to record at least this, in time.. since.. well,.. I won't be able to sing quite like that much longer.

Awesome! The range is a G# below middle to E above, a minor sixth that puts it at a low alto, mid tenor, or high baritone range. So you'll likely be able to keep that range if you try, even as the timbre changes and becomes more masculine, though things might go haywire for a while. Thank you for sharing, It's nice to hear voices to go with the words on the screen.

Thanks.
And an extra thanks to Alyssa. ^^ It's nice to know I "might" be able to "keep" some of that.

Sweet, thanks for sharing, Min. I've always liked how the Scandinavian languages sound; I'm of Swedish descent, though I don't speak it (would like to learn). You should record the same chant once your voice changes.
And congrats in advance on the T. I take it you managed to get around the 1 year RLT requirement.

Thanks :)
I plan to.
And thanks on the gratz.
Yeah, getting around the 1 year rle was just a matter of me pressing the point of "I've been myself for years! it would Only mean I'd have to sit and wait for time to pass!" which isn't what the "rule" is for.

Thank you Mins,
That was beautiful. As it happened your download played as an introduction to Len Cohen's Suzanne; why I don't know, these new fangled computer gizmos always mess me up: But, it was gorgeous. I recommend everyone to try it.
Good luck my friend with your trip to the T shop.
