Title: Eyebrows?

Hello all, this is my first question post here. I introed a long while back but the cat got my tongue.
My question is about eyebrows. I'm in some trouble with them. Back before I started transitioning I had a lot of dysphoria about my facial appearance. I took it out on my brows by tweezing them. It looks pretty ridiculous, though over the past year or two they're slowly growing back. Eyebrows, I was disappointed to find out, have an incredibly long hair cycle. They're far beyond anything passing. I've tried powders and pencils and the sparseness is just too sparse even to draw back on. Plus I feel really awkward about wearing makeup. It just doesn't feel good to me personally.
Has anyone had an experience like this? Has anyone tried to use those "eyebrow wigs", and did you have any success with them? Headcovers Ultd. makes some for men that seem to be pretty good, with a gel backing instead of a net so it doesn't look obvious, but I'm a little reluctant about buying since they are $40 and don't accept returns if they look wrong. If anyone has any more info or options, that would be great.
Thanks!
x Will

I shve mine because they are to flat. I draw them back on in a shape I like. Arched and thinner. I use black eyeshadow and alcohol. Using short, light strokes I can achieve realistic looking eyebrows. The short strokes simulate hairs and are fairly good looking.

I don't think the eyebrow wigs will satisfy you.
Draw them on, or just deal with it until they grow out. I don't think you have much of a choice.
Just don't mess with your brows next time, lol.

Let them grow out, that's probably the best you can do.
Eyebrows take 64 days to come back in fully.

Thanks, SilverFang and Tristan. They haven't really come back after a year +. I'm beginning to get a little concerned that they're gone for good. I heard that sometimes pulling them out paralyzes the follicles. I wish I could have stopped myself, it was a total stress reaction.
Thanks Janet, I have tried that and I can't seem to make it look right for the thickness I want.

How much have you plucked? The entire brow or did you just shape them?

That's odd. Maybe you should see somebody. Like a dermatologist? I honestly don't know who would be able to help you with that.
Looks like you're stuck with drawing them on.

Ive always had thick eyebrows. Before transitiong I was embarrased of them so I tried waxing. That was worse because I felt I no longer looked like myself. Now as a guy I feel very comfortable just living them alone, they defintely help with passing. In your case I would just try penciling.

@Tristan - Yeah, most of them. They're back to thin lines but that's all I got.
@SilverFang - That's probably a good idea. I guess I'll look into a dermatologist. Maybe there is something up.
@Kyle - Yeah that's exactly how it felt. I couldn't seem to look into the mirror and see myself no matter what I did. Talking to someone really helped me with that.

It's called "Vegas brow" because it's true that if you pluck enough the hair will eventually stop coming back. I'm sure there ia product out there that will stimulate growth though so if you can get to a dermatologist they may be able to help you....
oh and Wellcomposed... you're not alone, I also pull out my eyebrows as a stress reaction. Which is weird enough, but my grandma does her eyelashes!!

My ex had that problem too.
She has Trichotillomania. She would pull her head hair and her eyelashes. She stopped pulling her eyelashes, though.

Vegas brow lol
Yeah eventually follicles just give up. I've had stuff like hairs that come out on my jaw and cheek, some big ones on my aureolas, that I just plucked and plucked until the follicles gave up. I had these when I was pretty young, so it was many years of plucking.
Wish I could give you some of my underarm follicles those are GOOD follicles.

I started on T in 1976 and had hairy legs and eyebrows. Then I started losing the hair on my legs, and only had about half of my eyebrows left until I found out that I had hypothyroidism. Since put on medication, the hair is slowly growing back. You might want to have a blood test to check out your thyroid.
