Title: Ideas for useful things to do while on hold?

First of all, everone should know that no matter how long you've been on hold, if you take the phone away from your ear for a split second, that is the moment that some one on the other end will say yes, may I help you? If you do not respond with an immdiate yes! You will immediately be hung up on or sent the back of the hold line. Please do not include the term "hands free headset" in a direct response to my plea for help.

Do not deal with companies that do not answer the phone with a live person. I got rid of my cell phone because I refuse to pay for automated service.

Find the name of the person you want to do business and call them at home.

Er, the problem isn't "lack of live person", the problem is, there's too many callers per person available to answer. Thus creating queues.
_
Have a pen and paper with you to the phone and draw/write whatever comes to mind. Draw or Write without thought if nothing does. (You wanna do this anyway in case you need to write something they tell you down.)
Alternatively, learn to lay solitare, and do that while you wait.
Have the phone near the TV so you can watch while you wait. (Just not too loud or you might miss it when the person on the phone answers.
Knit.
I do not suggest eating cause you know they'll answer when your mouth's as full as it's gonna get.

I spent more money on hold this month, than I spent talking. Is that enough to make you stand up & slap your Grandma?

I like to play my little skeeball app while I'm on hold, eating, bathing, I'd play it while sleeping if I could. Who knows with this bottle of Ambien on the nightstand maybe I can!

I think there may be an issue here with the ambien. If you are in need of a responsible adult to hold onto that, I am available to hold onto it while you look, & I can swallow hard when it's absolutely neccissarry.

I'm afraid I might be stuck with it, I don't think my health plan covers the better ones. I'll ask my doc on the 30th, if she writes something else for me you can have the rest of the ambiens lol.

I like too wake up around 3am when the ambien runs it's course, pee, take a xanax, chug lots of water, & wrap myself in that warm blanket off sweet fog.
