with all the debate over the new guidelines concerning mamograms it has caused me to wonder about how this effects the MtF transsexuals. so what do you think?

Go by the current standards until you have that conversation with you doctor.

My insurance company wanted me to come in for a mammogram and a pap smear, after my employer changed my gender marker to 'Female'. But I did not get there before I was let go.

Generally speaking it's recommended that women 50 and over get breast screening on a regular basis. My doctor has me included on her 2 year recall list. Given that I'm on HRT I could be at risk of developing breast cancer.
An once of prevention... as they say.
I've never heard of TS woman needing a PAP Test as they don't have a cervix.

My doctor has a number of trans patients and admits that the data for trans women is simply not robust enough to make a determination of whether regular mammograms are necessary. So given that he follows the same guidelines as GG.
Then said I was due for mine. Oh well, time to get my t*ts in a wringer again...

here in Uk all mature females get called in for mamograms every 2/3 years..I've had mine with no embarassment when I was small from lack of response to estrogen and now I've had implants I'm looking forward to another mamog in year or so.
