Title: are you naked?
Post by: Hannah on December 10, 2009, 02:03:02 AM
This isn't a sexuality question so don't get all randy. I'm just curious

How much of each day do you spend naked? I sleep in the buff because anything on my aching, throbbing chest at night makes me crazy. Since I started taking Ambien I doubt I could force myself to wear clothes to bed or at least keep them on.

So between sleeping and bathing, prolly 10 hours a day in my soft, warm, cuddly birthday suit. There has got to be some kind of health benefit.

Maybe some seconds as clothes are being changed, and fifteen minutes I take to shower.

And of course. . . during some situations that require it. You know what I'm talking about.

Not very much.

Shower and that's it. And I avoid looking in the mirror when I am.
In a couple of years that may change, depending on genetics... ^_^

No except for showers and no mirrors.

I can't believe nobody else sleeps naked. As a mtf you can't see the gross parts when you wake up you know, just the awesome ones. I saw a show once where the guys were saying that only easy girls slept naked.

I'm not easy!

I only lay naked in my bed when I feel like going into a trance and some voo-doo hoodoo hypnosis mind traveling experiences.

(in other words I play my music and try to go into another place in the universe and my thoughts)

I haven't done one of those in a while.... try astral projection.

well acid helps.

so I've heard

QuoteI know what you're hidin' from me
You know what I'm hidin' from you
I know that you hurt me real bad
You know that I hurt you bad too
Let's just get naked
Just for a laugh
Let's just get naked
It's a trip and a half

I could never sleep naked. It has nothing to do with the body; I get too cold. I toss and turn a few times every night, and always manage to pull the blanket off me at some point.

Maybe if I had a really big, really heavy blanket... But then I'd suffocate. Hmmm....

I sleep naked, it is much more comfortable. During the summer, I am naked in my house often, as it is hot.

Well, living alone I can dress pretty much to suit the climate. Since it gets 100 degrees plus here in the summertime, so I often will spend the evening or even entire weekends naked if I don't go out (why pay for air conditioning if you don't have to?). Oddly, I like to sleep in at least a long t-shirt. It's about 30 out today, though, so I'm thinking naked time's few months away.

Under my clothes I'm always naked.

OK, and here is your acid dream for the day then.  What if the exact opposite is happening?  What if what the acid does is open a door of perception where what you see is reality, and your 'normal' state is more or less a hallucination you've dreamed up?  What if everything is all interconnected like the acid trip sees, and not all separate and individual like we love to think it is?

I only manage to do it like 4 times in my life.

It's really hard because either I do it, or I'll go into a deep sleep.

Too cold to be naked much today! I used to sleep naked but one of my dogs is prone to middle-of-the-night seizures and it's too cold comforting him in the buff.

Reality is a mutually agreed-on hallucination that isn't necessarily real. I'm with you on this, Tekla.

Well yes, want me to tell you about it?  OK.

We had done the big huge back to back weeks of the Dead at Calavares and the Oakland Auditorium which were killers, but right after the Oakland shows the Jerry Band was going to play acoustic bluegrass and electric sets up on the Ell River in very Northern California - in the heart of green bud country pretty much - so right after we finished the Oakland load out we jumped in the Jimmy and spun up to the Ell - about a 4 hour drive, no stops - and got a nice campsite right on the River (cause all the slugs went home to spend a night there before coming up the next day, loosers, anyway...) So the band was set up on a big old flatbed semi, and the campgrounds were the concert site, so we sort of ambled on over and caught the first set.

So, 90 minutes of bluegrass later, watching the sun roll over the redwood covered hills, the band broke for set change at which point eveyone (well, almost everyone) went down to the river, got naked - and I'm talking at least a few hundered people here - and proceeded to just have a good old naked time there splashing in the Ell River, diving, swimming - all that good naked river stuff.  We all dragged ourselves out and more or less dressed and went back to the show where the Jerry Band electric started off playing And It Stoned Me, the old Van Morrison song.

Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Hope it don't rain all day

Chorus:
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like jelly roll
And it stoned me
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like goin home
And it stoned me

Just seemed perfect somehow, and at the next set break, everyone - and I do mean everyone - went down to the Ell and got naked there under the warm California Sun with the redwoods smiling down on us and Jerry playing for us.  Acid was in there somewhere too.

Living in the Tropics I spend as much time as I possibly can naked. Sleeping, morning coffee and evening music and reading. It really cuts down on the laundry.
Ah Lsd and I spent alot of time together, it's an old aquaintace that took my ego away with it. And yes if every thing is the opposite and too real are you really tripping or have you broken through reality too better or worse place.
Back to naked. Try swimming in the sea under a full moon naked

I have to go with Tekla on this one-we used to call it 'skinny dippin' (swimming naked)-sounds like ya'll had a great time!!! I can only imagine hundreds of folks doing it together. Take a trip and never leave the farm. Can't say that I would do it again though. If done correctly meditation will get you there too-it just takes longer and isn't as intense.

I heard Jerry do some strumming with Tony Rice that was great-at least I thought so.
Yes I too am naked under all my clothes!! 8)

Jerry and Uni have a lot in common, they both just wanted to do music - not Art, not ART, just music - for the people hanging out who wanted to listen.

eh when i shower, and sometimes after I shower if I'm alone I will wear my towel around my waist like a guy does, I mean yea my boobs are out, but it feels so feminizing holding your towel over your boobs and I hate doing it.

other then that, I'm not naked

The UK winter is way too cold for going naked unless bathing... but in the summer both my partner and I can often be found sleeping in the buff, to say nothing of skinny dipping in our private pool. :) (When the neighbours aren't looking of course ;D )

Not sure if I would have been so keen pre SRS though...

Surprisingly, I use to always sleep with my clothes on; But for the last year or so, I've slept naked.

Also I'm naked in my blanket most of the time when I'm around my house--I think it's very earthy, our past folks use to be naked before clothing came out...So should we.

Being naked also helps me when I wish to leave this world and go to another dimension by astral projection, dreams and other tools.

You shouldn't be ashamed of your genitals, some people don't have any at all, lost them in accidents or have diverse mixing (Herms)...At least be happy that you have one...Which later on can be changed!

Would you rather be disgusted by something you don't like? Then to have nothing and you won't be able to pee properly. Having tubes in your body and it hurting more then any other pain possible.

I had an relative who lost their penis in an accident where their car was crashed into by a drunk driver in a heavy car while they were in a light car, they had their seat belt on but still flew out, they fell against the asphalt and skidded across...It was a hot, BURNING day and going with the weather; They were wearing shorts...

The drunk driver crashed at him with a huge speed and while skidding against the asphalt their genitals were torn from the blistering heat and the grinding from the asphalt. They were in tremendous amounts of pain and had to endure it for a few minutes while someone called the ambulance, the Doctors rushed to save them and they ended up having to sew and tie up their private parts in a large amount...

Long story short, even up to this day...It causes them great pain just to do something we all take for granted, peeing. He can't move and bend down in certain postures or he'll have to embrace even more pain!

As an Trans-person, I see the discomfort of having the wrong tool, so to speak but I'd rather have a penis any day then to bare the external and internal pain, embarrassment and torture of what my relative had to go through.

Everyone has it worse then somebody else...So we as humans, should always remember that.

We should prolly go a different direction with this, there are a few of us here who tried to cut off our stuffs. I actually have an interesting scar. The car wreck thing doesn't sound to horrible to me honestly, having donor tissue is the bright side to a bad bad situation, not something to be grateful for in any respect.

I think I see what you're trying to say honey, but I don't think it's going to fly very well.

The proper term is "intersex."

There are people who would rather have no genitals. Being in an accident of course is horrible. Lifelong excruciating pain is not the only alternative to a penis, either.

Yeah it could totally be worse but there's no way I can until post op. That thing demands it's presence to be known far too often. I never really could sleep naked for that reason. But otherwise naked forsure, it's more comfy to be that way now than ever before :)

because my body doesn't feel right, I HATE absolutely HATE being naked.

I even sleep with my breast forms in a bra and that gives me some comfort to make up for my body's current inadequacies.

Maybe I'll feel different farther into HRT and/or after SRS

Becca love, you ask the most interesting questions lol

Well it's 31 degrees C here right now (88 F) and I'm wearing a loose sarong with no bra, but I would feel rather uncomfortable being completely naked. Funny it didn't used to bother me too much, and I mostly slept nude. Now I usually wear at least a PJ top or nightgown and panties to bed. I do get naked for sex of course, but most of the time I put my jammies back on afterward. I just feel so... exposed.

I think it may be like Jerica said- even though my body is now female shaped thanks to hormones, being completely naked is just too much of a reminder that I'm not yet complete. I'm interested to see if that attitude changes after SRS.

OK, I'll bite...

I bare all only in the shower and covered in bed.
Wearing panties is definitely an option for me, but the rest has to come off if I'm going to sleep in peace.  I always have my kimono nearby for 'emergencies'.

I too miss sleeping on my tummy but I'm coping with it happily for now.

I was sitting here naked when I opened another thread and dropped my peanut butter sandwich in my lap. I want to eat it still, but, well it has cooties on it now. It's very conflicting, and I have learned not to eat naked from here on out. I think I'll put a robe on and make another sandwich.

I try to spend as much time naked as I can but where I live, it's very cold (northern AZ) this time of year so...even the house is cold. My parents never turn the heater on so I rely on my miniature heater in my room lol

That..didn't come out wrong what I just said, did it?  :D

I like naked!

I had given serious consideration to becoming a nudist - except for the fact that I hate my body (pre-HRT). I sleep nude and have for many, many years. I think it comes from when I used to do a lot of camping with a youth group in my teens. When we went camping in the Winter (northern New England - 35 below zero fahrenheit or colder) we were told it is best to sleep in your sleeping bag nude, because your body heat keeps you warm and the insulation of the bag keeps you at a comfortable temperature. If you wear clothes in those conditions, your body sweats and the clothes get wet and the bag loses its ability to insulate and you can die of hypothermia - or the counselors just wanted us to sleep naked.

This time of year it is too cold for running about sans clothes, but on warmer days, no problem. I just don't look at the mirror or down there.
