My favourites in the genre are Gamma Ray and Helloween.

Also, if anybody knows 1st wave power metal bands (second wave being like Blind Guardian and whatnot with first generation being post Judas Priest/Iron Maiden screaming stuff. First wave because Priest and Maiden have a lot in common with old school heavy metal too.
