Title: Temporal hair loss prevented by HRT / GRS in the long run?
Post by: june bug on December 26, 2009, 03:58:42 AM
I've been on hormones consistently for 6 years, off and on for 10 years total.

Unfortunately in my early 20's (I'm in my early 30's now) I did have a certain amount of temporal hair loss, enough to definitely warrant a scalp advancement when I get FFS later this year.

Anyhow, I'd love to hear some of the older ladies here who have been transitioning for a long time have experienced any further hair loss on their scalp.  Also, any general information about such things would be great.

I don't know why I obsess about it so much, but sometimes it looks like my hair line is slowly thinning, but then I wonder if what I'm seeing is new hair growth! Ha ha.  :-\

Either way... would love to have my mind put at ease with any info anyone might have on the subject.

Thanks!

I would really be overt when telling this plastic surgery that you want the "temporal" area done aggressively.  There is only so much they can do for the temporal area.  The  mid section is not a problem, but the temporal is.  You might have to get FUI done (grafting).
