Post by: Carson on December 30, 2009, 08:59:46 PM
So my prescription was called in today and it is shipping fedex overnight so I will do my first shot tomorrow afternoon!!

How long do they usually give a suply for. Mine will last for 5 months and it was 120 dollars which seems like alot but I don't know.

Um, I dont think it is normally that expensive.. but think of it this way, I have to hand over $125, just to talk to a therapist for an hour. YUCK

$24 per months isn't oo bad, but I take E which is only $45 for 90 days.

Congrats!

((Still waiting for referrals!))

My (very limited) math skills says you're paying about $24 per month if the price sticks and doesn't change. Not terrible, if you put it in that sort of perspective....

Too cool. You might need help with the first shot or two.
My hands were shaking so much when I got my first bottles of HRT that it would have been impossible to do an injection.
(is glad she only usses pills and transdermals)

As a former member of the 'man club' I think I can safely say: Welcome to manhood.

ok, I guess I was judging by what everyone else was saying and the average seemed to be around 60 but mine includes needles and everything.

Good job man! :D
Insurance covers my T so I just pay a co-pay, but if I had to pay out of pocket it would cost $90-100 USD for about 2.5 months. Price seems to depend on what pharmacy you go to.

Not sure where you live but you can get it cheaper through Stroheckers online, they ship to most states.  but if you paid for fed ex shipping that may have added a lot on for shipping.
Congratulations!

I think it depends on insurance.  Mine covers my T as well.  No co-pay or anything I just get a vial that lasts 5 months for free.. just gotta pay for needles  :icon_shrug_no:

Congratulations Carson, that's a big step and I'm sure in a few months you'll be shaving and being mistaken for James Earl Jones on the phone :) T is a pretty wonderful drug for you guys. You can look through the avatar pics and just look at before and afters and see how much it can change you. Get ready, here comes the rest of your life Carson :) Meghan

Actually, I've done nothing. The psychologist is covered but I'm not sure what he puts the reason down as. I actually read that my insurance now covers mental health appointments for transgender issues. At least it's a start. ::)

My blood tests are covered but my endo looks for more than just T levels. My endo puts my reason for blood tests and T is treatment for hypogonadism. It's been working so far. *crosses fingers* :eusa_pray:

My endo isn't covered by my insurance because there wasn't one in my network who would prescribe T or other HRT.
