Title: New years resolutions
Post by: xxaussiexx on December 31, 2009, 05:18:25 AM
Me again!

Seeing as i have less than 5hrs before im finished with this year, thought for the sake of it to see what new years resolutions ppl have for next year (mostly transtion related but it doesnt matter)

Im definitly going to start working out! - have already done 2 workouts this week.  Want to make the most of the 'T' thats being injected into my body :D

And i really hope to get top surgery done in December 2010.  Might get a 3rd job to help with the funds so my gf and I can travel to America.  Phoned up Dr Garramone this morning and have arranged a phone consult for next thursday! Im quite excited about that!!  Is it possible to put a deposit down this far in advance?  Because knowing me, once the deposit is down i defintily, no doubt about it, have to save up for it.

If you want, feel free to share yours!

Cheers,
Joshua ;)

As I've said in threads like these, I don't tend to make resolutions, just get what needs to be done now.

But I guess I do have one, and that's get on T before the end of 2010 and learn to love myself. The last one might take longer than the T.

Don't get me wrong I think it's a good idea, and in retrospect, sometimes the planning for things can take up year intervals.

Learn to love/accept myself.  Then decide how far I want the transition to go   :)

Lachlann - failing to plan is planning to fail... Or so I am told but it does work if you give it a shot. I think I will plan to be myself. No one else is going to be huh... I realised I have never really just been me... Like I have always tried to behave how I should or how I was expected etc. No more!! Oh and I too Josh should probably try and make the most out of the T I am putting in my body lol!
Happy New Year by the way all - May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

True enough.

And yes, be more like myself is another one. I realized I caused excess anxiety over forcing myself to be something I'm not.

Isn't it just like light bulb after light bulb goes off when you figure out "why" you've been feeling crappy up til now??
It is for me I just keep realising "why" I was the way I was as a child/teenager/now!!
It is very liberating to just be... Instead of being - for others, how you perceive others expect you to be etc...
I wish you the best Lachlann :)
And I say "why" like this because we all know it's never the only reason eh...
Cheers

I couldn't agree more.

Best wishes to you too.

I don't make one "resolution" per say because then i feel miserable if i fail. But i do make lists of things i should do, want to do, etc and tape it on the fridge. Important things plus stupid things that can be done easily. More than one so if i fail to do one thing i see i'm successful with others.

Over the next year:
- Lose weight (biggie)
- Get my head screwed on straight (in a matter of speaking lol)
- Go on T (biggie)
- Walk/jog two miles three times a week (not really a biggie, but hey)
- Name and gender marker change
- Certify my dog as a therapy dog

That's about it. Everything else goes along with those things, like feeling better about myself and what-not.

Happy new year!

Resolutions: [things I WILL do]
- get my name changed (not hard as all the paperwork is already in... just waiting for  my court date)
- get a job (after my name is changed... I have no pressing reason to get one until then, and I'd rather give the T another month or so)
- eat more healthily (already sorta started on this.... I've added salads to my diet like once or twice a week... ew but I feel I should eat SOME veggies)
- get back to the park more... not to exercise but just to... be (last semester was so awful/busy I didn't really get a chance)

Things I hope to do:
- be more social
- maybe find a gf.. but ima wimp so who knows.
- find time to read "fun books" during the semester
- grow some sweet facial hair
- learn jujitsu (theres a place right by me I just noticed =] .. <3 martial arts)
- create an STP out of my packer and actually be able to comfortably wear it. (something about the physics of the whole thing makes me feel like it would be highly uncomfortable.)

Lose a lot more weight. Eat healthier.
Get a job.
Stay as unstressed as possible.
Save more money.
Be more selfless. Random acts of kindness!
Stop jumping into relationships early.

Resolutions?  They're an interesting concept. I think they don't fail as often as people get the impression they do, it's just the failed ones that we hear about all the time.

I do have some goals for this year though!
- Get on T
- Get voice lessons
- Either join a gym, or get back into martial arts
- Save money to move
- Build a house (or buy one)
- Build a (new) chicken coop and run
- Move into aforementioned house
- Get a job shortly thereafter
- Get some pygmy goats
- Get a (new) veggie garden started
- Research ways to afford going to school

I think that's a good start.

My resolution is to get healthy in general, mostly exercising regularly and eating healthy and taking my vitamins consistently.

My resolution is getting T :P
But other then that, to get healthy and take care of my depersonalization.

These are the ones I really want to stick to:
1. NEVER EVER go into the psych ward again.
2. Get in shape (hopefully before summer - I wanna be able to wear muscle shirts lol)
3. Get out of the house more.
These are the very unlikely but very much wanted ones.
1. Start T by the end of the year (my parents are still worried about reversibility >.< )
2. Get a gf. :P
