Obama appoints transgender woman
Amanda SimpsonAmanda Simpson, a member of the board of directors of the National Center for Transgender Equality, has been appointed Senior Technical Advisor to the Department of Commerce by President Obama, according to NCTE.

WOW! :o Maybe President Obama is really trying to honor some of his promises. Now if we, the GLBT community, get to be included in the health care bill.

There IS some change I can believe in! My problem is that in the past forty years, more than two-thirds of those years the presidency was in the hands of the conservative to ultra-conservative wing, and the other less than one-third, the moderates. We have not had a liberal president since the ineffective Jimmy Carter. Clinton was mainly a moderate, in spite of the constant attempts to label (and destroy) him as radically liberal. So, we may be making some real progress in spite of the "wrong" wing attempts to regain power by sinking the country. IMO
