Title: Introduction
Post by: Cadin on January 22, 2010, 06:52:25 PM
Hi everyone.  My name is Cadin and I am a friend of Susan's.  I have visited this site several times over few months but, have not had the nerve to publish anything until now.

I am 39 years old with a physical disability.  I am a full time college student studying English as a major and Journalism as a minor.  Although I'm not quite sure what I want to do when I graduate.

For the longest time, I thought I was a lesbian, however, I came to the realization that I am FTM.  I have come to realize that I was trying to live a life as others wanted me to. Hence, making them happy but me miserable.

I have just began to travel the road of transition.  If anyone has any advice for the newbie, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Cadin, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 4000 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another brother. :icon_hug:

Hi Cadin.

The best advice I can suggest is to read and respond.

I say this because you can only really learn to know yourself by understanding what others feel.

I stumbled in here not too long ago. I'm a little older than you but not much. Though I've known all along what I am, I just don't have the courage or idea of what to do about it.

I can say, from my own experience that this is probably the best bunch of people I've ever been with. I've said things here i've never said to anyone before. And I'm feeling great.

Welcome to Susan's, Cadin.  Pull up a keyboard and explore.  As Spacial said, you can learn a lot just by jumping into the forums - reading and responding.  This place helped me a lot to figure out who and what I am.  It may help you, too.

When I was in college, I could never figure out what I wanted to do afterward.  That's normal, right? :icon_confused2:

Welcome.  I'm looking forward to seeing you around the boards.

Thanks Kate.  I haven't been on here but for couple of days and I already feel at home.  I have never been happier.  It's wonderful when you accept who you are and live for yourself as yourself and no one else.

Welcome to Susan's.

Any specific questions, don't be afraid to ask. There's most likely at least one with a similar case to yours.
