The floodgates are officially open! It's been for ever since I've been able to let it go and today while listening to a particular song it just stuck me a flood of emotions and I just lost it. Even though I was aware of it and half glad it was finally happening I still managed to let it out.
It was pbeautiful and very moving. aawwww. Next thing I know I'll be trying to figure out how to turn the damned taps off >_<
..oh may as well post the song!!... :D

Quote
Sparta - The Most Vicious Crime
Alone,
It could be alright,
I'll make it alright,
Have to get by,
Have to get by on my own.
Today,
I found this moment,
I leaned in and stole it,
This is the start,
This is the start of it all.
I was born into this world,
I've done all i was told,
But oh, I did it too slow.
I walked the straightest line,
I finished it all in time,
But oh, its not enough for you.
I'll steal your cries,
I'll take your life,
And run it all aground.
I'll believe your lies,
I'll take your life,
And run it all aground.
The time wore down this passion,
Forced it, fortold that i could learn,
It wasnt enough.
I lost my head at the thought of losing,
I fell apart when it came to choosing you,
Its time to get it right.
I'll steal your cries,
I'll take your life,
And run it all aground.
I'll believe your lies,
I'll take your life,
And run it all aground.
Alone,
It could be alright,
I make it alright,
Have to get by,
Have to get by on my own.

Hopefully it wasn't a random fluke, having it stuck on I guess would be better than it being a once off!!!! :P
This bit really destroyed me, in a good way:-

I've been needing a good cry for a while. I feel so ...disconnected. I would love suggestions for good movies that might help fix this problem.
I want happy tears, so warn if it ends tragically =P.

I know how is it to need to cry. I went to bed feeling lost, unable to find that happy place in my soul, and I cried at last. Did it help? No, but it did feel good to cry. Sometimes we just need to cry. :'(

Happy tears are awesome...
What Dreams May Come (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_Dreams_May_Come_%28film%29) - for pure tears of joy this is the one that as worked the best so far for me, there are a few low points but mostly joy.
Pay It Forward (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pay_It_Forward_%28film%29) - this is kind of a tragic ending but also uplifting at the same time, I think it was the empathy of the local neighbourhood that got me. Oh and 'the conversation' between the mother and boyfriend, wow.
Powder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powder_%28film%29) - this is a touching story of a boy/man that I guess we all can relate to (social ostracism) ok the end is half kind of tragic but he finds some sort of peace which induces tears ..well for me it did :P
Homeroom (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_Room_%28film%29) - this movie builds and builds ..and then more building until the end and BAM let those tears flow, you really get drawn into the characters lives and everything they're feeling. Oh this is also my all time favourite movie and it gets me everytime, full body jerking sobs :P
----------------------
I'd say I spent a good few months running searches online for 'movies that invoke emotional reactions' etc and found most of these, there are others but these are my favs. I'd like to think they helped loosen the taps a little. :P

What Dreams May Come and Homeroom look like they may be good ones. Thank you :)
Stories like Notting Hill or Emma are my faves, where they end exactly how you wish they would.

If I really want to cry at a movie, I watch 'Eight Below'. Dogs can really get to me, especially after I lost my beloved Polarbear.

Why do you think I cry? Not the dog, please not the dog.

I've looked back and remembered the pets I've lost and even today, (right now as fact) my eyes tear up. I've been hurt lately with my ex deciding it's time for her to leave and us to split, I've lost relatives recently, my father last year.
I will disagree to a point, it does help to soothes the soul to cry, my soul anyway, to quote B-Tribe, "You won't see me cry..." but it sure feels like something is being removed, lifted, pulled, or I'm being otherwise exonerated of whatever guilt and pain that may have been attached.
Though sometimes a bottle of wine is involved, it's what it usually takes to get me started, but I feel it as a worthy exorcize of my psyche on occasion.

Yes...dogs. Especially dogs. Having to make the decision to let them go.
I'm a songwriter (or, honestly, a receiver of songs from ____?), and I'm often blessed with lyrics that bring me to tears. Such was the case the day after we said goodbye to our beloved George on December 26th.
I won't post a link to the song, but I'll send it to anyone who wants to hear it.

I lost a dog after Gustav and I still have dreams about her... a Pomeranian + Papillon mix. Best dog I ever had, and I've rescued a lot from this area in the past 9 years.
I can handle losing people but the loss of a dog really just... rips a part of my soul off.
Yeah, I'm crazy.. I know. Sorry.

It's interesting how some people can be closer to animals than humans.. I know a few people like that.. even myself to a degree.
I used to make jokes about it and say "it's because they don't argue with you or think your jokes are silly.. and they truly love you unconditionally".
Sometimes I just think animals have a better grasp of love than some humans.
P.s. today marks 6 months for my little fluffy one.. this song is for her, her fav!!!

IT finally happened again, my endless endeavour to reconnect with my feelings... I've been really down this week so it's no surprise. I had some bad news at the doctors today then starting crying at the ..hhmmm what do you call them that government agency that pays unemployed people (it changes with each country :S) while signing my second death warrant of the day he asked if someone had upset me and I told him it wasn't any of his business and that I just wanted to go.
I watched this video when I got home, and let it flow I'm sure I take this song in a more darker way than it's intended but.. *shrugs*.

Heya Chloe thanks heaps *big hugs*... I wish there was some way to convince your brother, men can be so blind to their stubborn opinions and even when proven wrong their egos don't allow them to admit it.. I guess time will hopefully change things.
My doctor said I had high prolactin levels which if they stay high then I'm at risk of a brain tumour, the only thing that I can think of that has effected it after doing some research is a herbal product I was taking during dec-jan but have since stopped, hopefully my levels drop when I get my next blood tests. Bad news seems to be amplified while going through this period of life.. I'm just not emotionally experienced to deal with it yet.
But having a possible answer has made things a lot easier and less doomish.
:P

"Fly Away Home" is probably my all time favorite movie, it starts off with a sad event but has a happy ending, both of which always have me in tears. A recent movie that I cried my eyes out all the way through was "My Sister's Keeper", which is sad and tragic but an excellent movie just the same.
Thank you Muffin for the hugs, that's something else that always helps. I hope your next blood test is a happy one! (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cosgan.de%2Fimages%2Fsmilie%2Fliebe%2Fa055.gif&hash=09c31e3d3e9f03f2ca1e44008cb973d551e61797)

My emotions have been up and down lately and after reading the posts. I ended up watching 'My Sisters Keeper' as mentioned by FairyGirl, I started out with a lump in my throat and a sadness behind my eyes, I thought I was going to start crying, but I did not.
As the movie progressed, it got sadder and sadder until finally the tears started streaming down my face and did not stop until the end of the movie. even now the tears have started again, this is killing me no end.
I have to go now as I have to blow my nose (I'm laughing and crying as I write this last line) and sort myself out.
Thank you for the movie tip FairyGirl and I hope you are feeling better Muffin.
Regards
Sarah B
