Greetings!
My name is Melanie. After years of denying, I finally started to accept that I always felt like a woman inside 2 years ago. Since then, things have gone very fast. I started HRT in May 2009 but had to stop due to some reaction to either spiro or estradiol. I'm investigating alternative treatments. I'm full time since December 2009 and things go pretty well. I file my petition for name change and should have my court order in April. On the down side, I lost my wife in the process and I miss my sons, who I don't see very often.
Susan's seems like a nice place to be. Thank you for letting me in.

There's a lot of good information and good people here. Each of our stories is unique but we have a lot in common. Settle in, pull up a keyboard, and explore.
As Janet said, be sure to look under the Announcements heading. There you will find the rules we live by in this little world of ours: "Site Terms of Service and Rules to Live By", "Standard Terms and Definitions", and "Post Ranks". Look through the other stuff there, too.
I hope you can get the hormone treatment straightened out. You're seeing a physician for it, right? And I'm sorry for your losses. Some of us manage to stay married, but for many it is just too hard on the spouse.
