Title: To all pre-T guys desperate to pass...
Post by: Ryuu on February 12, 2010, 04:44:45 PM
do not, I repeat, DO NOT, ever try to dye your peach fuzz, like I just did. My face is currently stinging like a b*tch from getting all the dye stains off my face. And at the end of that, there's absolutely no effect anyway. LFMF.

Did you use hair products, or an item intended for this purpose such as beard/facial hair dye?   ;D

Reminds me of last halloween when I dyed my father's mustache bright green. He sported it for one day. It was pretty funny.

Stick to semi-permanent. Permanent hair dyes are strong and have a weak bleach in them. They dye your scalp too when you use them. Do some research or something next time.

It was hair dye left over from dying the hair on top of my head. The stuff I used to get the dye stains off is what's making it hurt, not the dye itself.

WHat did you try to use to get the stains out...

because hair dye itself can sting a lot.

First milk, because I read somewhere it worked. It didn't. Then soap. Then toothpaste. Then just scrubbed it until it came off. The scrubbing did it, it didn't hurt before.

Good advice and a good laugh. Would make for a short comic strip...

Lotion, aloe vera, and about 7 and a half hours later, still stinging. I am an idiot. Lol.

dying works for me. It takes 2 days for it to leave the skin but the hair remains dyed.

You live, you learn.   :D  For future reference, dandruff shampoo often works well for getting hair dye off of skin.

When I was in 10th grade, I used to do the mascara trick on my chin fuzz, you just have to keep the element from touching your skin and only drag it across the hair.. No pain..

I used rogaine on my face in the past, then dyed the resulting hair with just for men's dye that is meant for the face/beard. :D Didn't hurt.

The beard and moustache stuff works.  Trick is to only leave it on for the brief 5 minutes they recommend. I got into something online once and left it on longer and yeah the skin stain was not so good.  But if I wait 5-10 min max it comes right off.

I use it because there are a few areas on my face where the hairs are lighter, and makes it look patchy.  The dye helps fill it in.  Never tried it on peach fuzz.  Used to shave that stuff off.  :D

I was under the understanding that Rogaine shouldn't be used on faces?

I think I may try some of that on my goatee.  Most of it has come in blond, so it doesn't show up except under very bright lights.  ::)  Believe it or not, I've got a good half-inch going in my avatar photo.

Post some pictures! :P

I've been tempted in the past to dye my peach fuzz. I'm glad you did it first.

I have a picture of the giant friction burn on my cheek, if that's what you mean. >.< All the dye's gone, though, and I didn't get any pictures before I started killing my face getting the dye off.

when i read that it works with "just for men", i decided to give this another try. just dyed my fuzz with just for men facial hair dye (black)...left it on for no longer than 5 minutes...my skin is still grey (and red and burning from trying to get the dye off), the hair is sort of light grayish color, not really noticeable though :( i guess it might be an individual thing, some guys really recommend it and have good results, but it's definitely not for everyone :/

Personally, just for men did nothing.

I just got money from last night's show for Rogaine!!!! I wish I had my phone on though, so I could take pics but if I get pics from last night's show that shows my facial hair I'll post them. I ended up dying my hair black again, and dyed my facial hair along with it. It all stands out now awesome-ly. My face looked funny until I took two showers, but now it looks normal. I'm happy :D

It did burn a bit...but maybe my skin isn't as sensitive cause it didn't hurt nearly as much as it should have..with all the dying, rubbing, abuse to my skin and face and hair.

Oh crap, that must have SUCKED.

It stings when I put bleach in my HAIR,
let alone my face.

That would be a no-no, haha.

I didn't know it was safe to bleach your hair with well...bleach? If it is, I'm trying it.

Here is a picture I got from a couple nights ago. I'm the farthest to the right. All those sideburns are from Rogaine :D. It doesn't seem to be very keen on making the rest of my facial hair grow though, but I'll take what I can get.

I'm not sure about safety - bleach is absolutely terrible for skin and can cause chemical burns in high concentrations, so I would guess not - but I'm pretty sure it doesn't work. The same chlorine as in bleach is responsible for the "green" hair people who swim in pools develop - it doesn't lighten, it just turns it green.

Hahaha, no no no, I didn't use BLEACH bleach.

Bleaching dye.

Like, you go to the beauty store..
and buy the separate powder and volumizer
(cream or liquid)
Mix it together, and you have hair bleach.

Nevernevernever use clothing bleach on your head.
That's bad news, lol.

Don't try that. But you can try watery hydrogen peroxide, it's cheaper than actual hair bleach.

It's actually not that expensive.

The powder is like $7 and the volumizer is around $2-$3.

Same price as any other permanent hair dye.

I never tried dying peach fuzz before. I tried shaving it on my face though. Nothing happened. It grew back the same color and in the same amount. I was afraid my skin would be irritated but it didn't

Hmm...Sorry that dying it didn't work for you

->-bleeped-<- man. i read the toothpaste part and i cringed. that stings as it is when its left on your skin too long.
