If a cubical is available I sit in public, but at home sit all the time.
Sitting seems more natural even if I have still got my boy bits.

Well, I'm TS so sit. I've only stood 3 (and a half) times since I've started identifying as TS, and they were all a while ago out in ickie dirty male toilets where sitting weren't really much of an option. The half time was when I was peeing into a urine sample holder, I kinda semi squatted. Sat down to finish up afterward.

Depends on how you are dressed . if in female mode then there is no ? sit & only in the womens .
For me while or when i was in bob mode i would most times sit as i did not like being around men . & am very care full where i went & most times even then i would squat or hover as the seats were not every clean, so as mum told me put paper on the seat .
of cause i only use the womans ,

HI ladies,I have sat for a long time now, even throughout my purged time I have sat,its more natural to me. I know its not the only reason why I have started going back to dressing as a female, but it is very helpful feeling confident in my toilet habits. I crossdressed for many years before I purged,[Thank god I have returned to this wonderful world] and being dressed as a woman needs attention to detail, even down to toilet training !! :)

I haven't stood for more than 20 years, regardless of how I've been dressed. I have found it more comfortable and cleaner.
(BTW the house I live in had been rented to the university rugby team before I got it. One of the first things I did was replace the floor around the toilet because it had been eaten away by urine. I have rather strong feelings about sitting to pee. Sorry. :P What you do is up to you, but I find standing gross.)

I stand, unless I'm in a stall in a bathroom with women who may be hostile to my being trans and could freak out if they saw the top of my head poking out above the top of the stall. Why can't American bathrooms have floor-to-ceiling stalls like those in Europe? I mean, really.

Good point. You may be in a cubicle, but if your feet are pointing the wrong way it is very obvious what is going on. Don't expect to be greeted as a woman when you come out of the stall. :P

Although I still stand from time to time, sitting is starting to become second nature to me. In public restrooms I still tend to use a urinal if that's all I have to do, A: because I feel like it's cleaner and B: because I somehow get nervous that someone is going to walk in and somehow know all I'm doing is peeing. XD But although I do still stand if I'm in a hurry or something, when I'm feeling more relaxed I do tend to sit.

This question has a very simple answer. He stands or sits. She sits only. I would never stand in a ladies room-- even in a closed stall. Trust me, people will know. The when in Rome rule applies here, for sure.

OK, I guess I missed something during toilet training. First of all, most places I go have clean toilets. Second, it is difficult to get a disease from a toilet seat unless you have open sores on the parts that rest on it – lower buttocks and backs of thighs. Your intact skin acts as a barrier. Third, those who hover and don't clean up after themselves cause the very problems they are trying to avoid – dirty toilet seats. Fourth, urine is inherently clean, although feces and blood are not. If there are feces or blood on the toilet seat, I will either clean it up or find another toilet to sit on. Look before sitting.
Am I the only one who doesn't have a problem sitting on a clean toilet seat in a public women's room – the same seat other relatively clean women sit on?

From someone who does janitorial work in a medical setting for a living...
The part about urine is accurate (clean). In that case, wipe down with toilet paper.
Feces or blood? You can wipe it down and probably be safe. If you want to be sure, then have some lysol/clorox wipes in your purse and whip out one of those to use on it. As long as you get the seat surface where you are touching clean, you should be good.
Or, just hit another stall. But yeah, the supervisor here typically has a batch of clorox wipes in her purse for when she has to travel outside the building, just in case (she IS a germaphobe).
As to HIV on any surface, if the body fluids have been exposed to air more than 10 seconds, it's gone, kaput, an ex-parr, er virus. It is not pining for the fjords.

the answer is not as simple as it might seem.
First, I don't have any paranoia about "nastyness" - if a toilet is obviously soiled I don't use it at all - short of extreme emergency - if it's not, invisible cooties don't scare me at all.
Second, my preference is to sit but I make a couple of exceptions. The major one being that if i sit, for whatever anatomical reason, i don't drain completely - sitting is a flat out guarantee I'll be needing to again within the hour.
If it is impractical for me to go again so quickly - and if I am in a private setting such as a one-seater with the door locked - I might chose to stand. I don't really like the feeling I get from it but I'm not going to paint yself into a corner because I want to avoid that moment of dysphoria.
but all that said...never ever EVER would i stand to pee in a public ladies room that's not a one-seater.
I'm not gonna beg for that kind of trouble, no matter what the implications for later might be.

Hovering is the cause of disgusting public toilet seats - not the solution. If nobody hovered, seats would never get dirty except for possibly a few drops at the front; the rest of the seat is always in contact with skin. If everybody hovered who was physically able to do so, every toilet seat would be covered in bodily fluids, and those with physical disabilities would be stuck either cleaning up the mess or sitting in someone else's waste. Thus hovering is morally indefensible, because it would be absolutely unacceptable if everyone did it - just like standing to pee without putting the seat up.
I don't have to use women's restrooms anymore (thank God, they're revolting, piss-covered seats and unflushed blood-and-feces-filled toilets jammed with 50 feet of toilet paper and dirty-toilet-paper-strewn floors...) but on behalf of those who still have to, I beg you: wipe the seat and sit on it. Please.

Fallacious how? Any other line of reasoning has to allow for some people being so bloody "special" that their pristine behinds can't be sullied by others' dead skin cells and minor bacteria, so "special" that their own cleanliness outweighs the harm they do to others by pissing on the bloody seat.
As someone who's had to touch quite a few toilet seats attacked by "hoverers" (I had an eye condition that caused temporary near-blindness a few years ago, and when you can't see, you have to either sit on the seat or reach out and touch it) I'm a little bit emotional about this. People too often don't think about the effects their behaviour has on others.

I honestly don't know why they don't raise the seat. Some of these people literally leave the toilets covered with droplets of piss and blood and sometimes dirty toilet paper and diarrhea. I don't think the next person's health and comfort is high on their list of concerns...raising the seat would probably involve too much contact with surfaces that have been touched by us mere mortals.

I was asked by an intimate female friend, shortly after I started transition,
"Do you sit down in public restrooms?" I said,"Yes I do.", thinking she was somehow
"testing my femininity" She said,"I can tell by the red bumps on the back of
your thighs and on your fanny." Since then I hover, no more red bumps.

I arthritic knees and along with having a broad chest find the normal restroom stall usually too small, especially when some idiot installs the humongous toilet paper holder right next to the toilet seat so I need to use the handicap stalls.
Even though being a GM I can no longer use urinals without soiling my clothing as I started to develop problems dripping following surgery for a kidney stone and then treatment for prostate cancer. That means dropping the pants to even urinate and standing by with something to wipe up with and hoping someone didn't urinate on the floor.
I am sometimes repulsed by the manner in which some people leave the condition of these facilities, if they can't at least clean up after themselves they could at least let management know there is a problem with the cleanliness. I don't understand why some GM's insist on trying to pee with the toilet seat down. I also hate it when someone spits their chewing tobacco all over the toilet or even in a urinal.
My other disgust is the GM's who come in and do their business and then walk out the door without washing their hands, especially when you have to pull the door handle they touched to get out and especially when it is in a grocery store or worse a medical facility....

If I have to urinate, it usually means I have to do the other thing as well. But if I only have to urinate, I will stand if the toilet is dirty. Otherwise I much prefer to sit. I'm a MtF and I've alway sat on the seat. I didn't begin standing until I realized that wiping huge amounts of piss off the toilet seat was a waste of time when I didn't have to sit down at all.
I stopped cleaning toilet seats after getting a job where cleaning restrooms was a part of the job description. I realized that doing "the good thing" by wiping off the seat doesn't really make much of a difference since some jerk will probably barge in the door 5 minutes later and proceed to sully the seat. So if a toilet is dirty, I just leave it like it is, take my piss and then walk back out the door.

Always sit, when outdoors, I squat :)
Sometimes I squat because it makes things easier. Squatting is the natural position.

In public male restrooms I usually just stand to pee. It does feel a little unnatural to me honestly, but I do it because it's more hygienic. Being able to stand to pee in public restrooms I do see as one of the few benefits of having those boy parts.
However, in a women's restroom I would always sit. At home I'm pretty much always sitting.
Although in my younger years I did stand more often.

If women are going to hover then remove the seat. It's not like they're using it.

:eusa_think: Kind'a like when I was visiting Karachi, Pakistan (on y'all's dime) where they have no toilets just a hole everyone hovers over.

Or they can learn to lift the seat like men do since they don't use it anyway and then won't be pissin' all over it.

I imagine that must be very distressing for someone who has never squatted before. They must be all like, "What the hell am I supposed to do with this!?"

I was browsing a few days ago and since I have registered I wanted to post.
I always sit when I am dressed up and always use the female restroom. I might be a little higher than the door due to the 4 inch heels, but that only makes me 6'1ish, they are really small as it is.
Anyways, somebody mentioned hovering, I always do this. I will of course wipe the seat, but I hold on to the side rail and just hover about a half an inch above the toilet and...go. I have never...ever made a mess.

The only times I don't sit are when I have to go when I'm taking a shower, as I'm certain many other women do.
And if I wasn't in the shower and urinated while I stood, i'd have to take a shower after anyway as I spray all over the place. I marvel at how some women can get a straight stream to come out as opposed to spraying everywhere. Maybe I was put back together differently. huh

I always sit while at home. Sometimes while out I stand while using a stall so persons entering see high heels under the stall door. It gets some fairly interesting reactions.

Folks, I began the practice of sitting years ago when I finially came to terms with my label, T G . Now sitting as opposed to standing for most of my life was not the easiest thing I had ever done . Niether was learning to walk in heels . Still, I was determined to do as a woman , no matter what .Today, I'm still doing as any woman might in a regular situation ........... ellen

;D Good evening Ladies, I know this topic is old...the red box told me so, but still I can answer ;D
As a f2M...about the only thing, I am not comfortable with using in public, is the "male" head, unless it is in a Gay/Lesbian club/establishment...
I am "very" Metro in appearance, So I can still pass to go into the women's "Powder-room", and besides, I still have my biological female function... :-\ No Ladies, the ONLY thing I use it for IS to pee out of... :o
I have always been a sit down reader in my home at my own leisure...So, I love to do crossword puzzles etc...when utilizing the toilet...but hey that's just me... ;)
