Title: Hey Everyone
Post by: katgirl74 on February 25, 2010, 09:25:34 PM
Hey everyone,
I am a 35 year old MTF transsexual woman. I actually began my transition about 2 years ago, and have been full time for nearly a year now. I know, I waited a while to join the forum. I had known about it, but I have plenty of support so never really considered spending much time in forums. So, now almost a year into living my life, I decided it was time to start connecting to a larger community outside my normal base of support. So, here I am. Looking forward to meeting people, sharing my experiences, and learning about yours. For me, life is good, and I am just glad to finally live life the way I have always wanted to.

Hi Kat, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 4200 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:

Thanks Janet, I appreciate the welcome. It's nice to reach out and meet other people through the forums. There are so many diverse experiences out there, and I just hope I can be there as a resource for other people who are where I was two years ago. I was fortunate to have a very smooth transition, and now on the final countdown to GCS. It's been a long journey, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I am so happy to be where I am today.

Thanks for the welcome.

Christy- I transitioned with a wife and two young children. I had been running from my gender issues all my life. My marriage was pretty much over before I came out, my issues had pretty much destroyed that. My coming out actually saved our friendship, probably the exception not the rule. I did, however, always identify as transsexual, never as CD or TV, in fact never went through any real crossdressing phases. I was always very sure of my gender identity. Dressing female was far too much torture, it was like tasting something I wanted so badly but not letting myself have all of it. I forced myself to conform to societal male ideals as much as I could, denying my true gender as completely as possible. Finally I reached a point and a place where I could finally be me, and now I am living the life I knew I always should have been living.

Hi Kat, welcome to Susans
I'm just starting on my journey and am waiting for my first appointment with a councilor so i'm where you were 2 years ago. My relationship with my partner is coming to an end after nearly 20 years together and 2 kids, its hard but i'm takig one day at a time. Im going to try and do it on the NHS so i'm not sure how it all works but if you followed the same route some advice would be priceless seen as you've done it and got the t shirt, and i must say you wear it well  :) :)
Personally i think joining this site was the best thing i have ever done, the support and advice on here is invaluable and it was nice to know i wasnt alone.
