Title: hormones
Post by: Christy Edwards on February 26, 2010, 09:20:45 AM
A few yrs ago my mother was having to take estroen daily. Then she stopped with several refills left. You can imagine what I wanted to do. And I did. Crazy I know, but I am sure I was not even close to the correct dosage needed. However I do remember feeling some light tingles/tenderness though. It did make me mentally feel better during that time. Of course after the refils run out, I could get no more. So, I know having yourself monitored is the best way, but has there ever been anyone getting them otherwise? I wouldnt do that, because of the risk, just curious. Oh and thanks so much for all of u making me feel welcome here.....Christy E

There are ways to get them without a prescription and its not uncommon, however it is dangerous and as such we aren't allowed to tell you how to do it -- best bet is to find a therapist and get a prescription.

Christy you will hear this for everyone.  DIY isn't ill-advised.  Yes there are ways to get them, but you don't know the quality and most are not FDA approved in the states.  And if you are not being monitored it can affect you liver.

Best way, Therapist and doctor.

You can get them without a prescription and not through a doctor usually from certain websites, It's dangerous in as much if you don't vet the site, they might swindle you, And dangerous in as far as you can't perform a lab analysis on your own blood-work.

However my opinions differ from most of the others here. ideally yes go through a doctor and I'd never tell you to not go down that route, but I know that situations maybe variable and such resources may not be available for some reason. In which cases you have to decide what is right for you and make it happen. I'm not allowed to elaborate under threat of bannination.

But if nothing else make sure you research everything extremely carefully from various sources three times over and fully educate yourself on what you need to do and what changes in yourself you need to watch out for if things start going wrong.

Thanks soo much for your quick reply/replies...True there are situations that make it extremely difficult to do the Dr./prescription way. It's just that I have now finally come to terms with myself after so many years. I have a 10 yr old son who I know is suspicious but doesnt know. I guess sometimes I want to put myself in a position of no choice but just do it....Having friends such as all who are on the forum, that knows where I am, means so much.....I will do alot of thinking on this matter...Will talk soon.....Christy
