SAN ANTONIO -- A San Antonio Police officer was arrested and is accused of sexually assaulting a transgender man.
The man claims officer Craig Nash picked him just south of Downtown early Thursday morning, handcuffed him, and told him to lay down in the back seat of a patrol car. He told investigators Nash then drove to a nearby location, un-handcuffed him, and sexually assaulted him.

While police identified the alleged victim as transgendered, a spokeswoman could not confirm if the complainant had undergone male-to-female sex reassignment.
The complainant, who authorities say is a prostitute, told police that Nash handcuffed him in the back of a marked patrol car before taking the him to an unknown location and forcing him to engage in multiple sexual acts, the affidavit states. Nash reportedly was wearing his police uniform at the time.

It says trans man not transwoman making the pronoun correct. The early comments seem to agree with that. I wish there were a better way of knowing one way or the other.
This article says the same: http://www.examiner.com/x-12237-Transgender--Transsexual-Issues-Examiner~y2010m2d27-San-Antonio-police-officer-charged-with-sexual-assault-of-transgender-man?cid=edition-rss-National (http://www.examiner.com/x-12237-Transgender--Transsexual-Issues-Examiner~y2010m2d27-San-Antonio-police-officer-charged-with-sexual-assault-of-transgender-man?cid=edition-rss-National)

No, that article just repeats what the other article said. The crappy local news probably just repeated what the cops said, and the cops are Texas cops, who, if Ms. Nash is any reflection, are not exactly the picture of sensitivity toward queer folk of any sort. The statement that the victim was a prostitute (whether it's true or false) probably means that she is a woman: far fewer men than women are prostitutes, and even fewer described are described as such.
Regardless of the victims gender, when Ms. Nash goes to prison, I'm afraid that my usual zeal for the Eighth Amendment won't stop me from being completely content if she is raped daily by prison gang leaders every day of the many years of her sentence.

Last I knew, San Antonio was one of the worst places in Texas for violence against TS, and one of the places in Texas where they go by original birth gender, since we can't change that here...
Which means that a transwoman and a man married in Houston are annulled if they move to San Antonio. The transwoman has to marry another woman.

Actually that means a transwoman cant marry or be married at all.... If she was married to a female pre transition, inorder to do your namechanges and the like you have to get a divorse.
And my friends wonder why I wont go visit them when they move to east texas...

Let's see, kidnapping and rape done under the guise of law enforcement and you're worried about the pronouns in a Texas newspaper.
Remember that the police are just another gang, except they are owned, not independent.

A formal complaint was filed in August against the San Antonio officer now accused of rape.
Rebecca Flores says Office Craig Nash was on the scene of a downtown assault which members of her family witnessed back in June 2009. In a formal complaint heard at the August 8th city council meeting, it is alleged Nash was rude towards witnesses and threatened to arrest a man who was trying to be of assistance to the victim.
