Title: T and hot flashes?
Post by: Sevan on February 28, 2010, 08:43:34 PM
I'm on a daily gel instead of injections..."low dose" (though..I'm starting to wonder if it's ACTUALLY low dose as far as my body is reacting and whatnot..) and in the mornings after applying the gel I've totally started sweating...MAJOR. I over heat easily now and feel mostly warm even when it's cold out. I've stopped wearing my jacket all together but that's not the point of this thread..lol.
My morning routine includes working out, showering and then applying my T gel. I don't know if it's the work out catching up with me, or like...after shower sweats (who the heck does that?!) or if it's the T....anyone else? THoughts?

I do weekly injections. I have noticed that my overall body temperature has increased, and I have also pretty much ditched wearing coats at all, but no hotflashes. I just notice that I get hot alot more easily.

I got hot flashes when I started T ('standard' dose, injections).  They took several months to stop.  They started up again when I lowered my dose.  Hormone fluctuations can cause hot flashes, just like menopause  :-\

Thanks :) I figured it was within the realm of normal...but always good to check and see if others have similar experiences. The massive outpouring of sweat is rather annoying. Ah well. I'm only 3 weeks in...hopefully it'll stop soon.

For my first 2 months on T, I had hot flashes every so often.  That time of the month didn't come this month however and I haven't gotten any of those hot flashes either.  My overall core body temperature is warmer by about .3 degrees (98.0F from 97.7F).

The working out and shower could add to the effect.  Applying the T probably just makes you more aware of how physically hot you're actually feeling (like a placebo effect) as the T doesn't get absorbed that quickly I don't think.

I'm warmer than I used to be, but I never had hot flashes from T. I was post-menopausal when I started.

Warmer, no hot flashes, but I don't feel warm by much. I just feel like certain joints don't feel as cold anymore.

I had daily hot flashes the first 3 or 4 months of T. It was awful. especially since I'd never had any before

MTF chiming in. I wanted to report that I'm much more sensitive to cold and pretty much always wear a sweater at work now. lol
