Title: Does binding make breasts sag?

My mom was telling me about how in her childhood, her parents didn't want her to show anything that might attract boys (due to their culture), and made her wrap a tight cloth around her breasts to flatten them. She says these days her breasts seem to sag a lot more than other woman's and it was because of the tight cloth.
I'm not sure if the sagging is from the binding or just from natural ptosis from aging.
Do you guys know anything about this?

improper binding can stretch the skin in whatever direction the breasts were "encouraged" to be in addition to cutting into it so that the body changes fat distribution around the binder.

My breast tissue has broken down significantly with about 6 years of binding. They are flatter and sag more than the average person's breast my age (20 y/o).
I don't think what I do is "improper binding" though. I have used the underworks 997 model and lay my chest downward/flat against my body. Basically, I just let them hang and put on my binder like that. I don't push them off to the sides/armpits or push them up on my chest to look like pecs (looks too much like regular female breasts to me).
I wear my binder anywhere between 2 to 16 hours a day. I'm also a D cup if that matters.

Mine are maybe around B. They're small enough to not hang downwards like larger ones, so when I bind, it just presses it flat. It doesn't push them downwards, just...into my chest? Would they sag over time?

all boobs do :| (gee thanks, gravity)
as Adio pointed out to my stupidity, the restriction of internal bloodflow from binding can break down the tissues (a little) resulting in excess skin.

For me, I can't tell. I'm about an F and my chesticles don't have nipples that point straight down. I do have a lot of sagging, but I think it's normal for the size I am. When I bind I push down and out. Sadly they still have a lot of shape sadly, and do not pass for pecs at all.

I tug mine "up and out" when I bind, and don't "force" 'em at all and I swear they've sagged a fair bit since I started binding (though mostly since I started T so that's probably a factor)

Maybe this is just me.
But considering i want them gone, I really don't care if they do that. If anything it might help.

Agreed. I've observed that when I started binding, my chesticles got less...um...well...less of what a cis-what-I-am would want. Got much easier to bind. Definitely had some tissue breakdown. But I don't mind. I want it to happen. And when I bind, I do the up and out method..and I use the tri top.

In a word: YES. Absolutely. If you have any sense of pride about your tits at this point, and for some reason want them to remain pretty and perky, just say no to binding. I've been binding consistently for about 3 1/2 years now, and I refer now to the chesticles as "pancakes". Honestly, that's what they resemble at this point. The breast tissue has broken down to such an extent that they lay fairly flat against the top of my stomach, and the only thing keeping me from not binding is the fact that my pecs cause the remaining breast tissue to protrude slightly.
And by the way, it doesn't take long for this to happen. I noticed a difference in tissue mass after about 6 months.

I believe it's a combination of not wearing a bra as often as possible in my formative years, binding and breast size. Also I got breasts really young -- I had a B at 7 and "had to" wear a real bra. By 9 I was wearing underwires because my chest was just that large. :o And I've bound for years and years at this point. So it's no wonder that mine sag.
If you push them down or to the side when you bind, it's probably more likely to make the skin stretch and sag as well. Some guys push them up to reduce that effect (no idea if it works or not).
