Title: New here too, looking for SIS...

Hi everyone, I found this site while searching for something. Back in the mid-90's, there was a TG support group from California, called "Swan's Inner Sorority", which was in newsletter form. It was put out by "Wendi Seabreeze". I got the newsletter for a while when I was trying to Transition.
I have been searching for some kind of lead, or archive, and can't find anything on the web. There are a couple of out of date references, and the email address is no longer any good.
I have been searching mainly because I wrote a poem back then, called "Trapped", and Wendi published it in her newsletter. I have long since lost my original and was hoping to read it again and share it with some friends. Any info anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hugs,
Gina Renee

Welcome to Susan's, Gina. :icon_flower:
There's a lot of good information and good people here. Each of our stories is unique but we have a lot in common. Settle in, pull up a keyboard, and explore.
Be sure to look under the Announcements heading. There you will find the rules we live by in this little world of ours:
I hope you find the poem, but a lot of things like that newsletter disappear when the editor stops being editor. I hope you find a copy of the poem, but sometimes we have to let the past go and move on from where we are. Perhaps you can write the poem again, from your current perspective.
Good luck on your search. :icon_wave:

Didn't know her. I was still in the lingerie drawer back then.
She did have some columns in these archived pubs in 90/91. Maybe some other authors have kept track of her.

Hi Gina, :icon_wave:
Welcome to our little family. Over 4400 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.
Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams. Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.
But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another MEMBER. :icon_hug:
And be sure to check out the links Kate mentioned.
The name you mentioned and the organization, I have not heard of.
Hugs and Love,
Janet

Hi Nadine!
So glad to hear from you! I was in SIS about the same time, 1995-96. I had a couple letter exchanges w/ Wendi 96-97. Never heard of SIS after that time.
Hugz,
Gina

Hi Maden Gina I spent a few hours this morning going through my arcives and I have most of the SIS Baubles from1995 & 1996 the monthly magazine for members and couldnt find your poem .
It must be eather before or after what I have I did fine info on A Gina from CA. and a Birthday of one on the 30 TH of a month. I guess my life drifted away from SIS after 1997 as I was not in touch with the Wendi for a wile I did try to contact her A few years later but could not find what happened to her or Davie her partner its like they dissapeared .if you ever find out what happened to them please let me know as I have always considered Wendi as my adopted stepmother even though I am older than her. As back in Febuary of 1996 I asked the Wendi to give me my name as I was starting a new life. I still have the Email she sent me with what she came up with she explaned that she took the first letter N and came up with the name Nadine as she never new any girls named Nadine then she took the letter E for Elisha and W for Wells thus my name became Nadine Elishe Wells she explaned to me the initals were for a N.E.W. Girl The next week I went to court and change my name to Nadine Elisha Wells and anew person was born ,I have since married 6 years ago and became Deck but that is whole nother story. Hope you find the poem
sorry I couldnt help Fondly Nadine Elisha Wells formaly known as the gender outlaw

Hi again Nadine!
Thank you for checking your old Baubles. If you happen to know of any other SIS-Girls, please ask them too. That is an interesting story how Wendi gave you your name. Thank you again!
Hi Michael!
Thank you for the address search. That is the old address, yeah, I found it, and called, and sent Wendi an email at that address, no luck.
Well, I must keep looking and hoping, Thank you all, for your kindness and help.

Gina and others,
So nice to see there are still sisters out there. I had become a life member of SIS after serving a stint as Head Princess. Sad to say Wendi has left this planet and there did not appear to be anyone willing to take her place. I purged all my files while downsizing so am unable to find your sweet poem. Hope your life is well.
Love, Jill

Hi Jill!
I remember reading your articles!
I am so sorry to here that Wendi is no longer here. May I ask what happened?
Thank you for looking for my poem, I will remain hopeful that someone still has it.
Hugz,
Gina

Hi,
My poem has been found by a wonderful refernce librarian at a university.
Here is my poem:
Trapped
Wake up one mornin' and realize,
That I'm not who I seem.
Unable to be who I really am,
Unable to be who you see.
I shoulda been a Girl,
But came out a Guy.
How did this happen to me?
I'm Trapped.
Since I can remember, tried to fight Her off.
Pushed her back, and held her down.
Just when I thought it was over and done,
With a vengence, She's back around.
I can never be a Woman,
But I'm just not a Man.
No one cares or understands.
I'm Trapped.
Goddess of the Moon, here I am,
Your Warrior Androgyne.
I bow to you, but kneel to Mars,
Divided loyalties indside.
Sword of Venus, Hammer of Thor,
Which would you have me wield tonight?
Deep inside the battle rages on.
I'm Trapped.
For those of you who don't understand,
There's no easy way to explain.
A freak of Nature, you might say,
Or some filthy insulting name.
I'm locked in a prison you can't see,
Bein' held down without chains.
I'm Trapped.
A Woman's soul forever Trapped,
In the body of a Man.
Am I weak, or just insane, or do I have
Defective genes?
You'll never know the longing.
You'll never know the torture.
You'll never know the pain.
I wish you could feel inside of me,
Cause you'll never know what it means...
To Be Trapped.
I'm sorry if anyone is offended, but that is my poem. It is as valid to me today, as when I wrote it.
Now, if only Lady Gaga would sing it... :)
Hugz,
Gina Renee

Perhaps this topic is no longer active, yet in hopes that it is I wish to greet you all. I, too, wrote many little stories for the Bauble. Wendi and SIS were a large part of my life, even helping me have a few pictures published in Transformation magazine. One of my stories, "Summer Band Camp", was even published in a magazine without my permission. How rude. Such is life. Love and hugs, Jill Johnson, former Head Princess.
