Interesting to study. Not good with them at all. I'm not affectionate enough.

That said, I have a pet bunny.

I love animals.  I always have.  When I was a kid my sole purpose for going into the City was to feed the birds and squirrels.  But I especially love my kitties.

I ticked animal lover and pet owner even if that's not "quite" accurate.

I get along with animals almost better than people, 'specially cats.
I don't think "lover" is the right word for that, but close enough...

I don't "Own" an animal at this moment, but there's the cat in the house that which we share and we claim some measure of friendlike claim to one another.
So, that's not "owner", but close enough...

to me ,animals are not much different than humans , except that they are always honest and to the point , would never hurt you if they just know/like you , fun to play ,sometimes just fun to watch , i mean i tend to love animals more than humans sometimes

I love animals.  I am a Mom to two cats and a Aunt to one dog.  I had an American Eskimo, but we had to put him to sleep because he was old and could not get around.

I want another dog, one day.  But right now I try to care for my two babies.

Gonna get me a rottie soon!

Depends on the animal.  I haven't much love for the smaller furball types, like poodles and such.  Those territorial yippers with Napoleon complexes who yip at  my dog and other large dogs are safe only by the leashes of the dogs they're dissing.  Honest to god, my dog's food budget would be a lot cheaper if he'd chow down on them, like they're asking for:)

I like the dogs as big as I am, at minimum!  Cats, generally too stuck up.  I really want a cerval though.

In general I find most animals have a fond place in the world, although not nearly so many of them should be pets.  So beyond those friggin yipper mongrels, I like em all!

I'm a big fan of cats, which surprises no one who's known me for very long. Some have even gone as far as to suggest I was a cat in a previous life. ^_^
I'd probably have one or two myself, if it wasn't for the unfortunate facts that my mother is allergic and that my stepdad hates them. Oh well.

That's amazing.  I really want to go horseback riding sometime soon, and possibly make it a regular thing.  I don't know if I can quite imagine the entirety of it, but in my mind's eye, it would be lovely to ride for a day or so out into the middle of nowhere in the country, then simply sit at the top of a hill, and stare are my surroundings.  Whether it's an ocean before me, or pastures and small crops of trees, or simply fields and fields of crops, or woods, I feel it would be surreal.

Horses:)

I like animals a lot more than I like people.

I have always had pets, whether it was cats, dogs, or fish. I have two cats at the mo, a sweet, orange, trouble-making tabby named Dragon, and a tuxie cuddler named Oreo.

One of my dreams is to be rich enough to regularly donate to the SPCA, and to have at least two dogs, two cats, and a snake. :)

The best thing about animals, for me, is that they judge you on your actions, and not by what they see.

I have a horse,
14 goats
flock of chickens
and three cats

Animal lover, for sure!

That said, I'm kind of a terrible pet owner. My amount of free time fluctuates throughout the year, and during the school year I just don't have enough time to dedicate to being a really good pet owner. I feel really guilty about this, because I got my ferret back in high school when I actually had TIME, not realizing just how much college would eat my life four years in the future.

I really think I'm more cut out for animal rehabilitation-- orphaned baby animals can eat as much time as they want during the summer, because I never seem to have anything to DO during the summer! Plus, it's really exciting being able to release them back into the wild and know they're happy and independant. Sure, I miss them when they go, and there's always the risk that some won't make it, but it's just an overall wonderful experience.

(Technically, the apartment I'm in doesn't allow anything but dogs, cats, and small fish tanks... but that doesn't seem to stop the fact that I have a ferret, my brother has a bunny, and we currently have three baby raccoons hanging out in my room until we have the chance to take them to the wildlife rehab center next week. *whistles innocently*)

I've owned a number of big dog's and i love the fact that each and every one is an individual and unconditional in friendship.

When i went through a crisis over my gender disorder 2 years ago, I lost my human friends you find out who your true friends are after a crisis and there are none... which is why having caring pets is so important human 'friends' only let you down in a time of need.

Well, it's like people isn't it? If you take the time to look properly, animals are wonderful and fascinating but if the gas bill is late then they are just the things that fly and crawl and sing around you.

Some people have an empathy with animals, some don't. Swimming with dolphins sometimes snaps that into place for some. Me, it's horses. But, in general, most animals can do that for me. If dogs can do that for you, if it's cats or rats, that's a plus for your emotional stability. I understand it as something that boosts your empathy for others. It's a wonderful feeling, to be able to relate emotionally to animals and people. Without it, what do you really have? Isn't it the real gauge of where you are in the world?

Horse Stalls!  Oh Yeah!  I haven't heard of a horse yet that will take out the daily wheelbarrow load. But, isn't that pretty smart of them to play dumb about it, to get you (how smart are you?) to do it for them? And that feeding them thing.......Hmmmm

Yes I love animals :)
I have 1 cat named Tails (from Sonic the Hedgehog)
He is just like me! Quiet, kinda scidish, but totally fast and athletic!
Poor kitty... he was left in an outhouse with some food and no one was around and he had no collar, I think he was abused as a kitten because he's never really gotten used to people
Whenever I go to the fridge to get food he comes running to get food too and when you start petting him he flosses his teeth all over everything lol!

I love horses, wish I had room but I'm afraid they wouldn't like it much if I kept a horse in my room XD.

I would definitely have to say I love pets, but it really depends on the recipe >:-)

Seriously though, I love pets and I can't really remember a time growing up where we didn't have at least one. Right now we have 4 dogs, 5 cats, 3 birds, and a fish.

Does get expensive though.

What is it about the TG communtity that make us anilmal lovers, if you look at the results you can see a very over infalted bias towards caring for our beloved pets. I was expecting possably a 50/50 split but it doesnt seem to be the case..

I love all animals!  I own a rabbit and a dog and I really really want to get an iguana, who will be named Gojira.

However, I'm the crazy person that thinks possums are very cute.  I also have the most insane urge to snuggle up to a komodo dragon.  I seem to like the "ugly" or "killer" animals--I'm very prone to going around saying things are cute, like munjacs (deer that have tusks) or manatees or hairless cats or tiger sharks or hyenas.

I've always been better with animals than people--I'm socially awkward around people, don't make eye contact, etc. (due to SAD, not Asperger's like my parents thought...though I'm not too convinced on that anymore...).

Anyway, the more animals the better!  It's a good thing I don't have lots of money or my apartment would be a zoo....I'd probably have an iguana and a duck.

I love animals

And I've adopted two cats that my partner wanted. I love my cats but I'm really more of a dog person. I have a dog that I've had since I was 12, but I had to leave my dog behind when I moved out of home. I got into animal rights because of my dog. I guess it's because she has this way of lifting me up when I'm down the way no one else can and I can't imagine anyone hurting a creature like her.

The first thing I would look at is if the wording to the topic drew in more animal lovers, and did not attract those who did not, thus skewing the results.
