Title: New FtM. New to everything, really.
Post by: ThatsNotPoetry on April 26, 2010, 08:31:02 AM
I only just started the transition process a few months ago, and I am only two shots into my hormone therapy. However, I have been researching extensively and am hoping the information I have can be useful to others, and vice-versa.

My name is Michael, though my family is still struggling with the new name and frequently calls me Monica. My workplace can't change my badge or how I am called until my name is legally changed, so I must be Monica there, too. Once my voice drops, I will be going through the legal steps for a name change.

I have been very lucky to have the full support of my family and friends in this. My wonderful girlfriend of 7 years is excited for me and doing everything she can to help. (Research, battling for a raise, herbal concoctions to avoid balding, etc.)

Next week (when school is over) I join a gym and work for about a year to drop 60 pounds of body fat and build some muscle. By then I should have saved enough for my top surgery. Can't wait!

Anyway I can't figure out how to modify my profile. I have joined the FtM Transsexual group and the "Profile" button is gone from my main menu. ???

**EDIT** Hahaha okay I read the FAQ answer for ranks. Neeever mind.

Hi Michael, welcome!

It sounds like you've got everything under control.  It's great that you've got a good support system, that should be a big help.

Hi Michael :)

Was just in this section when I saw your introduction and thought that I would say hello, don't worry, I'm not stalking you

Hope that you are doing okay with the hormones and all is well with you.

Take care Millie xxx

No it's just that I have spoken to Michael before on another forum :embarrassed: I don't want him to think that I'm following him around (the more I say, the deeper I keep digging!!)
