So today I bought my first tie and men's dress shirt. I went to my favorite place to shop, Salvation Army. ;D I don't have a lot of money to build up my guy wardrobe (which is taking time), so a lot of what I wear I already had (which a lot of it is androgynous looking female clothes or men's clothes). I thought it'd be fun to tally up the wardrobe so far. I also got up enough courage a couple weeks back to buy my first pack of men's underwear (they're SO comfortable--and no wedgies!)
It doesn't help that I'm fairly husky...boy, I thought finding clothes that fit in the women's department was bad...it's MUCH worse in the men's department. I can't find any jeans at Wallyworld that will even go on. I am working on the weight thing but it's slooooooow going.
So here goes my current tally:
1 pair men's jeans (yay for Salvation Army!)
3 pairs plain black androgynous-looking sports-type pants
2 pairs men's sweat pants (still need some "dressy" men's pants)
1 pair camo pants (need to lose some weight to get back in these)
4 or 5 pairs of men's shorts
3 pairs men's briefs
2 pairs boxers
2 pairs men's sneakers
1 pair men's velcro sandals (still need some "dressy" men's shoes)
3 undershirts
5 or 6 men's t-shirts (most of these I already had)
2 men's t-shirts with designs
1 men's dress shirt
1 tie
several pairs white socks (most are girl's socks but you can't tell unless you see the pink thread on the toes)
So, what's in YOUR wardrobe? What issues have you had finding clothes?

I don't have an exact tally of what I have, but I'll give this a whirl.
Couple pairs of slim/straight men's jeans. Some dark, some light, some distressed.
Couple pairs of men's cargo shorts. Mostly khaki, one pair brown, one pair grey-blue.
Lots of gym shorts, I was a runner lol.
Lots of misc. graphic tees, mostly from Express, Abercrombie, or American Eagle.
Couple nice button up shirts, usually blue or white, with stripes.
Couple nice sweaters, usually the kind with a stand up collar and 3 buttons. Hunter green, burgandy, cream.
Couple crewneck sweaters. Medium blue, grey.
Lots of plain white crewneck undershirts.
Lots of white socks, a few pairs of dress socks.
2 pairs of black men's dress shoes.
One pair of brown men's casual/kinda dressy shoes.
Lots of athletic shoes/running shoes. All men's.
Few pairs of mens brown leather flip flops.
One black wool peacoat, military style.
Couple windbreakers, mostly red, black, or blue.
I think that's about it...I guess I gravitate towards the same colors lol. I never really noticed that.

Men's dress shirt, a lot! probably 30 long sleeve and 20 short sleeve
Ties probably 20
Dress work pants- 5 or more pair
Dress casual pants- 5 pair
Jeans- 7ish pair
Men's shorts (for the 2 hot months a year we have in Portland)- 7+ pair
Dress shoes- 2 black pair 3 brown pair. several casual and tennis shoes. I LOVE shoes!
tons of socks and underwear and work out clothes.
I was just realizing the other night my wardrobe is pretty much 100% converted. A few more things I need to buy are men's work out pants but want to wait and see what size I am before I hit the gym again. Right now I work out at home in men's shorts and shirts I have cut the sleeves off of.

I don't have any women's clothing anymore so all of this is men's.
Too many t-shirts too count-mostly black, white, gray, brown, or navy with some splashes of color
Several long-sleeve t-shirts
Short-sleeve polos in multiple colors
Long-sleeve polos in multiple colors
A couple hoodies
Jeans-2 pairs I really like, another 3 or 4 that I'll wear if the other 2 aren't clean
Shorts-6 or 7 pairs
4 dress shirts-1 light blue, 1 dark blue, 1 maroon, 1 black (I still need to buy a proper white dress shirt)
Slacks-3 main pairs (khaki, black, navy)
Ties-typically don't wear them, but my dad left about 20 and I own 3 or 4 myself
Dress socks to match pant colors
Regular athletic socks (white and black)
One good pair of sneakers
2 pairs of dress shoes-1 black, 1 brown
A reversible black/brown belt
A long all-weather coat (black)
A lot of underwear
A lot of white undershirts
The colors I wear the most would probably be black, brown, gray, and navy/blue. Brown is my favorite color to wear, but I don't wear it enough.
ETA underwear/undershirts. Don't want to look like a complete slob lol

I've got one pair of men's jeans, but I don't wear them because while they fit around the waist, the thighs are way too big and they just look sloppy on me. I'm having a lot of trouble finding men's pants that fit me. I think I'm going to stick to shorts this summer (I've never really worn shorts before outside of sports-- mostly because I hated the way women's shorts fit on me before I got up the courage to start wearing mens).
-two pairs of khaki shorts
-three undershirts
-a drawful of t-shirts (all i wear when I'm not working)
-three polo shirts (I'm going to start building my supply of these and start phasing out the ratty t-shirts)
- pair of shoes
- seven or eight hoodies
- lots of mens coats (I've always bought men's jackets-- my shoulders are too broad for the female jackets)
- a few fleece vests
- a button up shirt and tie which I've only ever worn as a joke
- 2 pairs of mens sweat pants
- five pairs of briefs and four pairs of trunk briefs
I really need to start working on my wardrobe. Even if I wasn't transitioning I would. It's too... college student. I'm a year out of college and I'm entering a professional field next year, so I think I need to start dressing a little more like an adult. Let's see how long this motivation lasts... ;)

I'll do this the easy way.
Standard assorted top half stuff in gray, black, navy, light gray, gunmetal... gray, off black, etc.
Over shirts and hoodies in gray, black, darker gray, and BRIGHT EYE BLINDING YELLOW. ( no idea why )
Black baggy cargo pants x1
Ripped jeans x1
Cut off shorts/sweats to wear around the house x1000
A ton of boxers if I don't feel like packing (the usual color scheme)
A ton of briefs if I do feel like packing
White socks should I actually wear them
Black sandals
Black vans
One double front binder that I dyed blue. The white just wasn't doing it for me.
About 20 of these thin little cami things from Target that if I wear folded up prevent me from really having to bind if I wear hoodie... which I never leave the house without.
Too many hats
About $5,000 in girly belly dance costumes that I still have to wedge myself into for gigs.

Devin - look for men's boot cut jeans rather than straight leg. They have a lower rise and are cut more generously in the hips and slimmer in the thigh - kind of like women's boot cut jeans in basic shape, but recognizably different in both the fabric and the details of the cut. Levi's is a good brand and has both a relaxed and a slim fit version.
Another option to look into is the women's "boyfriend" jeans that are in style right now; they're cut to look like men's jeans on a female body. But like most women's clothes they tend to be flimsier and lower-quality than the stuff that's actually made for us.

I'm too lazy to tally everything up, but I've got:
A few pairs of men's blue jeans. (Need to replace, shot full of holes.)
A few pairs of women's blue jeans. (Dislike- Stretchy, clingy, non-denim material, tiny, near useless pockets.)
Lots of unisex T-shirts. (Most are dark and have Star Wars graphics or are tie-dyed.)
Most of my socks are black or dark blue. My few white socks are like novelties.
Women's tennis shoes. (Men's, women's, tennis shoes are pretty much all the same to me.)
Dark blue corduroy jacket.
Dark blue boys sweater. (Love wearing it! My mom looks at me weird though.)
I also have some women's black dress pants, some khakis, and some women's polo shirts. School dress code. I don't really wear them any more...
I second that. I'm still in college, but I'd love to add some more adult type clothes to my wardrobe. And boy clothes. But my mom doesn't like it when I do that...

You know...I'd be interested to see a similar thread in the women's forum. I have a feeling we'd see a pretty striking difference (and I don't just mean in the clothes themselves, but in the amount of variation and in the way they'd catalogue them). We kind of sound like we all have clones of the same closet, in varying stages of maturity.

That's an interesting proposition for sure. Particularly how they would catalog them!
It reminds me of the whole left-brain/right-brain debate regarding gender.
I actually have trouble finding boys clothes that is small enough for me. I have broad shoulders so the sleeves are always too long, or the shoulders are to narrow. :(
I outta find me a femme tailor!

Got rid of a load the other day after deciding that keeping them til i got back into that size wasn't going to work but:
3 suits
5 suit jackets
25 shirts
30 ties
40 T shirts
7 pairs jeans
underwear socks
2 navy overcoats
5 leather jackets
gym stuff
Think the only 'fe' male stuff i've got are the sports bras for when i can't face binding

Yes, actually. When I wear women's pants that aren't of the horrid, tight, spandex variety, they poof out on the sides and look like what I call "Gestapo pants." (Ok, it's not that noticeable, but it's what it makes me think of.) Men's pants fit much better on me, as I've got narrow hips.
Long sleeved shirts are just hopeless. Any shirt that's small enough to fit has arms that are several inches too short. Good thing I'm not cold natured... lol

Bunch of femme stuff my grandparents bought me is gathering dust at the back of my closet, the only well worn things i own now are:
6 T-shirts (Mostly grey, some yellow though)
2 Long sleeve t-shirt
4 hoodies (One orange, one grey, one black, one striped. All my favourite)
2 jeans (Baggy, extremly baggy. Skinny jeans are epic, but i can't stand to see the curves when i wear them...blegh. I need more though. Wearing the same 2 pants 7 days a week is kinda weird)
2 runners (One converse, the other some unknown brand)
1 doc martins
1 old, old, coat (It was my grandfathers when he was young. I think he is the only one to take joy in the faact its not in the garbage bin yet)
And one dress shirt that i plan on wearing to grad (Yes, also my grandfathers)

I have A LOT of clothes, I would be here all week listing them all. Mostly consists of various different patterns and colours of skinny jeans, coupla pairs of regular black jeans, and a couple of pairs of 3/4 length shorts in different patterns. Then a tontonton of t-shirts, both long sleeve and long sleeve, with bands...slogans...ironic statements :P that sort of style.
I have alotta shoes too, mostly converse, in different colours/patterns.
I have a few skirts and dresses, a few old, and some I picked up because they looked cute. (I still go clubbing en femme)

My wardrobe is in transition, too. It's largely a 'unisex' wardrobe right now, with some distinctly male items at one end of that bell curve and distinctly women's clothing at the other.
Largely, it's t-shirts of different kinds, some plain, mostly short sleeve with a few long sleeve. Crew neck or v-neck, all unisex/male.
Still some skirts but I'm phasing them out; I mostly had them because none of the women's pants I'd get were ever comfortable. Since switching to men's 'relaxed fit' pants, I no longer need the skirts or the crotch-torturing, thigh-squeezing, butt-shaming women's pants.
Some button-down shirts, but worn open since I can't close them over my chest... yet. After top surgery, these will fit.
I have a lot of men-styled women's clothing, too. Such as a three piece pinstripe suit, that's cut to fit a female figure. For a long time that kind of clothing was my compromise.
I currently dress kind of slobbily but that's because I'm in the middle of weight loss (50 lb goal) and I'm going to be having top surgery. There's no point in getting really nice clothing until after that's done.
This does remind me that I need to do another wardrobe sweep and put together a donation bundle.

My wardrobe is only about half-male. I have to clean everything out this month (i have tons of girls/women's stuff from a while back) but i've been putting it off because my parents still aren't cool with everything. If i suddenly get rid of a bunch of junk, well, don't know - crying jag maybe?
Hasn't stopped me from buying stuff, though. ^_^
Don't have an exact tally but here goes:
7 or so button up long sleeve shirts (some casual, some dressy)
7 or so sweaters (some casual, some dressy)
3 button up short sleeve shirts (plain/plaid)
10 or so short sleeve tees (some casual/print some dressier/plain)
3 pairs of jeans that fit nicely
5 vests
2 pairs of sweat pants for workout (not that i work out much :P )
1 pair of track pants
5 or so pairs of PJ bottoms
1 pair of cargoes
1 pair of dress slacks
1 pair of sneakers
1 pair of "dressy" shoes (though my parents refer to them as my "cop shoes")
1 pair of sandals
And the (some what) essentials - boxers, briefs, socks, binders, etc.
I'm waiting to buy more stuff since i'm trying to loose weight. Especially pants (top/s won't change much in size i'm guessing.) My goal is to lose enough weight to feel good in a suit by next fall.)

1 Roots sweat shirt
1 hoodie
1 zip up hoodie
1 zip up fleece vest (never worn, its only for sentimental reasons from back in University)
2 jeans
2 pairs athletic shorts
4 cargo jean shorts
1 plaid pj pant
2 pairs Roots sweat pants
1 pair long johns
10 boxer briefs
bunch'o socks
binders
1 pair black high top converse

As far as issues finding clothes, wasn't a problems, I have simple taste, just jeans and T-shirts mostly. I finds men's clothes much more attractive and comfortable! If I don't feel like shopping I just steal clothes from my partners side of the closet.

Make that one less pair of trunk briefs. Have you ever been having an awesome day then BOOM! red death rears its ugly head all over your favorite pair of underwear? Err. I can't wait until I my body stops bleeding all over my clothes every month. I guess it's back to girl underwear for the next week... >:(

Few pairs of jeans, some plain dark shirts, sports bra (for binding,) couple belts and a pair of running shoes.
There are other things as well that I don't use, as my mother doesn't like me throwing out clothes so they just sit there and collect dust.
Edit: I forgot, +three button up shirts, two white one black.

If you can, wash as much of the blood out with cold water. It's gotta be cold, or else the stain will set. The quicker you get on to it the better. I am amazed by how much comes out with just cold water. Then, something like Sard Wonder Soap and a lot of scrubbing.
Just got mine, grr. It was late and I thought I had actually psyched myself into not getting them but not the case! If it had been one day earlier it would've gone all over my bright orange y-fronts, so thank f--k for that.

i normally use tampons but if it still manages to escape I get stains too because I never bother to soak my ->-bleeped-<-. the whole concept of menstruation upsets me, naturally, so I am rather unpractical about it.
I am very much looking forward to loosing my period someday when i start taking T.

Peroxide helps get blood out, especially if you get it put on immediately. Red death sux. I'm having problems right now with spotting almost every day; the doc did an ultrasound and the uterus lining is really really thick. So she put me on Provera (gag, I hate the idea of that in my system, but it was either that or get scraped out).
I think the idea of a wardrobe thread for the ladies is a great idea; it would be interesting to compare.

Yeah, but in order to do the peroxide thing (or the cold water thing), you have to (1) be willing to touch the stain while it's still relatively fresh and (2) have somewhere to leave wet bloody underwear to soak and (3) be willing to touch said wet bloody soaking underwear to rinse it out after it's done soaking. All three of which make me physically ill. I'd rather just lose $2 in underwear every month or two.

My thoughts exactly. Every last one of them. In fact, that's my plan for getting rid of my female underwear-- they've just become my red death underwear and I'll throw them out when they get stained. I've never bothered with the soaking thing and I lose a pair or two a period because I refuse to wear panty liners in the days leading up to when I'm supposed to get it (which I never bothered to chart, so I have no idea when I'm about to get it) or in the days after. I HATE the feel of pads and refuse to wear them longer than necessary, but I don't like sticking things... up me... so I'd rather the pads. Yeah, it's impractical and a little stupid, but it's how I feel.
And we just totally derailed this thread... >:-)

May I suggest black underwear to prevent (visible) staining. That's always what I did. In fact, it just occurred to me the other day that I no longer need to collect black underwear like it's going out of style. Yay! :eusa_dance: Back when I was still wearing women's panties, I used to really, really hate it when I would buy a pack of underwear, only to discover that some idiot had decided it would be a good idea to line all the black underwear with white fabric. :icon_burn:
But back to the original topic ...
For the first time in my life I've become something of a clothes horse. :D I've become totally addicted to clearance racks. In fact, I just picked up a couple dress shirts ($4.50 each!) and long-sleeved T-shirts ($2 each) at Kohls yesterday. ;D
5 or 6 pairs of jeans (I go through these quickly, so I loose track. My job is pretty rough on clothes.)
2 pairs cargo pants (black and brown)
3 pairs of dress slacks (Brown, grey, black)
5 pairs of shorts
1 pair of swim trunks
4 pairs of fleece pajama bottoms (Even men's sleepwear has pockets! :icon_blink: )
4 pairs of corduroy trousers (brown, black, tan, grey)
8 dress shirts with convertible cuffs (gold, grey, black, red, purple, blue, brown, burgundy)
2 dress shirts with French Cuffs
A dozen, or so regular-cuffed dress shirts
Half a dozen-ish silk shirts
3 flannel shirts
15 or so long-sleeved casual button-up shirts
15 or so short-sleeved button up shirts (although most of these are now too big for me, so I need to get some more. ;) )
3 sport coats (black, grey, brown. Still need a Navy one.)
3 light-weight leather jackets
4 hoodies (red, black, blue, orange)
Winter coat
Nice trench coat, with removable liner, for more formal occasions
Custom painted leather rocker jacket that I got in London on my 18th birthday. ;D
40 or so ties
A couple dozen fashion T-shirts (with graphics)
A dozen or so long-sleeved T-shirts
A dozen or so solid-color T-shirts in various colors.
4 or 5 baseball caps
3 cadet caps
several newsboy caps
a black Homburg
a black Feodora
a brown corduroy Trilby
a pinstriped Trilby
a brown Safari hat (which I'm going to try to sell, as it's a bit big.)
a black Top Hat (which rarely gets worn)
5 pairs of cuff links
3 tie clips
1 pair of sneakers
1 pair of black sandals (I'd like some brown ones as well.)
1 pair black oxfords
1 pair brown penny loafers (which I plan to replace with saddle oxfords when I get a chance)
2 pairs slip-on skater shoes (1 brown, 1 black pinstriped)
2 pairs steel-toed work boots
several pairs of shoes I rarely wear, except on costume occasion - motorcycle boots, moccasin boots, silver loafers, etc.)
genuine fleece-line slippers (a necessity here in the frigid north)
lots and lots of boxer-briefs, 3 pairs of trunks (which I'll be getting more of) and 1 pair of boxers.
Ummm... That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I dress like a teenager, worn mens specific clothing since middle school, and the only transitioning is to a more age appropriate attire.
Old:
Like 10 T-shirts with funny sayings on them, video games, or brand names.
4 pairs of jeans - two light, two dark
3 pairs of shoes - dress, everyday, and a pair that are too loose.
1 belt (broken now) - use my dad's belts since I need one.
3 dress shirts - blue, black, red
1 pair dress pants.
6 pairs boxer briefs.
3 pairs boxers.
1 binder.
Tons of socks - white/grey, white, and black
New:
3 casual button-ups (1 too tight, don't wear)
So, yeah. That's about it. I don't have any accessories, just necessities: leather wallet, keys, pen(s), phone, stp. And those all hide away in my pockets.

If that is your wardrobe, where do you live?
Oh, I just sleep on the laundry pile. ;)

I just added five nice lightweight short sleeve button-down shirts for this summer. They won't fit correctly until after top surgery, so they're hanging in my closet until then. I know it's early but I couldn't resist; and I'll need them immediately post-surgery because I understand that pulling on a t-shirt is not recommended.
I really could not stand clothes shopping, before. Now I'm so eager to do it.

This is (most of) my closet:

I have exactly 100 shirts hanging up haha, that includes t shirts, button ups, polos, long sleeves, etc. Then I have 15 hoodies, 2 winter jackets, about 6 pairs of jeans, 2 khakis, 3 pairs of shorts, a few belts, flip flops, shoes, and about 20 pairs of boxers. My closet is always organized like that too, I'm a bit OCD about it..

Woah as cool as that looks to have your closet arranged by color, the bit of ocd in me would completely flip out at long sleeves being mixed with short sleeves being mixed with polos. OH THE CHAOS! T-shirts and button downs touching! *runs for the hills* And yet everything is fine when it's on the floor in a pile. Shut up, I'm not nuts. lol Not even gonna start on the hangers. I eventually had to switch to all black... but now some are different from the others, so I try to give the thicker ones to my husband so I don't have to deal with hanger patterns in my side. Again. I'm not nuts. ::)

I added a pair of men's sports sandals and a muscle tee. I think for swimming, I'm going to wear a pair of shorts (I'll wait till clearance time to buy swim trunks) and a muscle tee over a sports bra for the top.

Oh Lordy Lordy.
I have lots of clothes, but I need more..
:p.
4 pairs of mens jeans (some from pacsun, some are levis, etc.)
I need better jeans though that are wider at the waist so they don't define my "babY makin hips"
An endless amount of t-shirts of various brands.
3 polos (2 am. Eagle 1 volcom)
About 5 pairs of shorts, dickies and plaid.
White t-shirts and wife beaters for various layering with my binder.
Boxers and boxer briefs. About 20 pairs. I haven't worn womens underwear since I was probably around 13.
Lots and lots of black socks. I HATE white socks. They leave lint on everything.
About 4 pairs of gym shorts and a pair of flannel pj pants for lounging on my days off.
That's about all I can think of as of now...
Oh! And a bunch of long sleeved flannel shirts and hoodies. :]

White socks are for healthier and less odorous feet. Which I prefer and have never had a lint problem with.

I've never even given any consideration to swimwear. I haven't worn a swimsuit in over 15 years because I couldn't stand the idea of anyone seeing my stupid body. Maybe next year I'll be feeling good enough to think about that.
This weekend my wardrobe will be cut almost in half as I am going to go through and donate all the wearable women's clothing I still have. I now have enough unisex/male clothing to dress comfortably for about two weeks before I'd need to do laundry.

Ooh, I got a big box from American Apparel in the mail yesterday, so I can add to my list a navy blue cardigan, two t-shirts with pockets, one pair of mustard coloured y-fronts and a pair of gold socks with white stripes. I think I am starting to look pretty sharp, awesome.
