"My all time favorite cartoon shorts are the WB ones portraying Bugs Bunny in Operatic form as either: 1. The "Great Leopaldo" in "Long-Haired Hare"
2. A Corny Concerto "The Woods of Vienna"
3. Rabbit of Serville ""Figaro, Figarooooh"
4. Rapsody Rabbit
5. What's Opera Doc? und
6. Morning, Noon and Night in Vienna
I believe that these are all of the outrageous Operatic mishaps starring that infamous Bunny-man...Signore Bugs Bunny himself...!!! if'n yer de-pressed (really) grab a large bowl und fill it with some "sugar crisp, sugar pops or sugar smacks" (something sugary), put on yer "bunny slippers" und cry laughing by watching these hilarious WB cartoon shorts...I gua-ran-tee you won't be de-pressed no mo' ;D

Alfred J. Kwak... It's a Dutch thing.. Not sure what other countries aired it..
Nowadays I really love Family Guy's Brian. 8)

Bugs Bunny is classic, doesn't get old. Felix the cat. I don't know how common it was, but I also watched Mighty Mouse among others. Can't really pick a favorite episode, but I can say that Bugs Bunny probably takes the cake in most amusing cartoons and most amusing character.
Cartoons were amusing back then. Still are. But new cartoons seem too stupid to be amusing. :eusa_think:

It's actually quite an amazing cartoon with political and social themes. Also quite scary and sad at times..
Apparently there's also a Japanese and Danish version.
Edit: Ah! There's English synchronised episodes on Youtube. :)

I question the sanity of anyone who doesn't find Looney Tunes the undisputed standard by which all others are judged. Not only Bugs but Daffy. And Foghorn and the rest. The only ones I'm not so impressed with was the Road Runner shorts.
Second to that, among the old stuff, is Rocky & Bullwinkle and I also have a huge soft spot for Underdog
Among the newer thing, there was a mini golden age for a while there on Cartoon Network and Nick until they were taken over by poorly drawn crap.
Courage the Cowardly Dog was amazing (Fred the Barber was one of my favorite eps, along with any episode featuring LeQuack) Johnny Bravo, anytime Mojo Jojo was on the Powerpuff Girls. hey Arnold on Nick was very good work.
Also, while not comedy, Justice league Unlimited was probably the best comic-to-animation show ever done, and the predecessor Timm-verse series (Batman TAS and Superman and Batman Beyond) were also excellent.
I don't really consider anime part of the same discussion as it's almost a different art form.

Scooby-doo was far and away my favorite cartoon.
I also liked Inspector Gadget quite well. I was ticked that they cut Penny out of the movie version. ::) I mean, really. The whole premise of the cartoon was that Inspector Gadget was stupid and incompetent, but lovable, and Penny and Brain were the real brains behind his success.
I realize this may be viewed as heresy, but I never liked Looney Toons and their ilk. Never saw the point of them. I liked cartoons with a plot and, preferably, a bit of mystery and adventure.

I used to like watching groovy ghoulies and old casper but they seem to have vanished from most peoples memories.
I think my fave was Johnny Quest actually. I'm still debating tho.

Ok...of course the classics...Bugs et. al., most of the old Hanna Barbera cartoons, Rocky & Bulwinkle. (I remember the old casper too LordKat ;) ) Animaniacs is newer than those, but was ok too.
.
I haven't watched most of the classics in a while though...for the same reason that I don't read 'Peanuts' or 'Blondie' or 'Beetle Bailey' in the newspaper anymore. You can only do the same joke so many times before it becomes tired. Of course, I'm one of those people who can quote most of a movie after I've seen it once...so multiple viewings can get a bit boring.
.
Favorite? If we're going old school, then I'll throw out these: "Peter and the Wolf" (Composed by Sergei Prokofiev and narrated by Sterling Holloway (an old bit part actor, most famous for being voice of Winnie the Pooh)) and "The Whale who Wanted to sing at the Met" (Voiced/sung by Nelson Eddy).
.
Newer cartoons? I'm not big on most of the American cartoons from the last couple of decades. Though Southpark's "Make Love, Not Warcraft" is hilarious(How do you kill that which has no life?)...even if it does get a bit too crude at times. Totally reminds me of my WOW addicted younger brother though.
.
For newer cartoons, I actually perfer anime. My favorites tend to have well developed characters, are relatively well drawn, and have good music. Utawarerumono and Inuyasha were probably the best all-around in all three categories. Even if some of the episodes of Inuyasha were a bit juvenile at times, overall it was a good series (with musical themes for each character much like Peter and the Wolf).

First three seasons of Ren & Stimpy, all of Rocco's Modern Life, and the South Park episodes, "Die Hippy Die!" as well as the one were Cartman fakes Tourette's Syndrome are all pretty classic in their own ways.

Chuck Jones WB stuff is absolute tops. Bugs and Daffy are still my favorites.
When I was REALLY small, I liked, er, Kimba the White Lion. :embarrassed: Yeah, well, I was about five.
But then I discovered Jonny Quest, the originals from the 1960s. Those were great. Lots of adventure, a blond boy like me, a cool scientist father, and more male bonding than you can shake a phallus at. Bandit was kind of irritating, but I hardly noticed him.
Except I downloaded a bunch of old JQ not too long ago and was horribly disappointed with the first two or three episodes. Maybe I should keep watching and see if it re-grows on me?

Some of you brought up some that I had forgotten about; I used to watch Inspector Gadget all the time, and I love Ren and Stimpy. Others I liked where The Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles, Beetlejuice Juice and Darkwing Duck, but I can't pick a favorite. Cartoons aren't like they used to be.

Oh yeah! I forgot about Casper. I remember when I was about 6 I had a Casper record that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately, I left it in the car one day (in California, in the summer) and it melted. :(
I loved all the fantasy ones, too, like Dungeons and Dragons, and one that I can't remember the name of ... Blackstone, or something like that. The one about the guy who lived with hobbits, and rode around on a giant dragon-type creature fighting Evil to protect the poor little hobbits.
