Hello gentle Americans. Tonight was yet another fun filled night at the Tribeca Film Festival. Well, it was more than fun. It was grotesque, exciting, provocative, sexy, funny, repulsive, narrow minded, sensationalist, and gaudy good time. Only one film could be all this and more-Israel Luna's Ticked Off Trannies With Knives.
The movie is about a bunch of drag queens/trannies who meet up with the wrong men and get into lots of trouble; the kind of trouble that only a baseball bat, knives, some Mexicans and one greasy white man can provide. Some people in the transgender community were all in an uproar over this picture, saying it depicted transgender people in a poor light. More importantly, these same activists deemed the films title as greatly offensive. It seems transgender women do not like being called trannies.
