Title: 20 lbs
Post by: notyouraverageguy on May 12, 2010, 05:42:46 PM
I recently went to the doctors for a bad cough &when they weighed me I was way less than I thought.. Which is very surprising to me, I don't exercise everyday or eat super healthy.
But somehow I've lost 20 lbs within the last few months, its weird to see the numbers beacause I don't see any difference in my body.
The only thing a few ppl have said is that my face looks thinner.
How is this possible?
&No, I don't do drugs.

Lucky... :( I have to diet to lose anything. Your on T, right? I don't know if its true (being incredibly uneducated in the area of hormones) but it supposedly fastens up your metabolism. Or maybe, if your under a lot of stress, that could be why. My friend lost a LOT of weight (He was kinda tubby before) after he started his final exams.

Yeah-- people keep telling me I look like I'm losing weight, but I feel like I'm gaining it.   :-\  It's weird.  I have to admit I'm looking good.   8)  I think it's the subtle effects of the T starting to take shape-- the more muscular arms and back and stuff are making me more proportioned, I guess.  It's funny, though.  I'm huge for a girl, but as a guy I feel tiny, as chubby as I am.  I think just my opinion of my body has changed the way I percieve it.  I'm not sure if I actually lost any weight, though.

Stress can definitely cause weight loss. As long as you're otherwise healthy, though, I'd just accept it as a bonus gift.

In my experience stress made me gain weight. How unfortunate.
And I hate gaining weight because it gives me a lot of paranoia about my chest.

That's quiet a substantial weight loss for only a couple months though, but as long as you're healthy that's the good part.

Also, I'm a little stunned to find out you're not on T, ccc. Unless I read wrong or something. But yeesh, masculine. envy :>

Don't wanna alarm you, but the thing that comes to my mind when unexplained weight loss is mentioned is diabetes...

My buddy had undiagnosed Type 1 and inexplicably dropped about 20-30 pounds in a month or two.  Of course, he also had other symptoms such as chronic tiredness despite getting enough sleep and just generally feeling fatigued; he also had an unquenchable thirst.  He mistook the symptoms for a low-grade cold/flu that just wouldn't go away.  It took him a couple of trips to the doctor before they thought to check his blood sugar (Type 1 diabetes doesn't typically present in 23-year-olds).

Might be something to check out, if just to rule it out.

Yeah, thanks man.
Im actually at 100% risk of it.
:/
I was supposed to go back to the doctors once I got better to get a full blood exam to check for it &other stuff.
But im still with a cough, &a sore throat coming back.
