So I've been using a friends old tri top binder for over a month and have been loving everything it's done for me. I'm a 32 B and when I wear it I'm so fantastically flat. But I just went to buy my own and read something about tissue damage and have gotten myself freaked out. I think I'm gender queer at very least but I'm not sure I want to/would have my disphoria satisfied by transitioning. So I feel like maybe I should stop binding for a while while I figure out how to be happiest in my body? One of the things I liked most about the underworks tri top was where the straps sat on my shoulders. They were so far apart that I never saw them under the collar of a tee shirt. Can you recommend any sports bras, with maybe slight compression, that have wider straps like that? Something you may have used before binding? I have really small shoulders but I'm desperate to find something that won't peek out from under my clothing and will provide support but not make my breasts look bigger.

Re. binding:  Is there any way you'd end up breast-feeding and do you have incidence of breast cancer in your family?  If so, don't bind.  I've never seen a sports bra without any straps, but I have some Hanes from Target in size small that have relatively narrow straps.  They're pretty good at holding everything down.  I appreciate your position as a 32C.  If you have a 35 inch chicken chest like me, you may find sports bras from the kids' section do a better job.

I had the trouble, before I had my binder, of my sports bra straps showing as well. I had found this sports bra at walmart one time, it has straps kind of like a bra so they don't show through the collar of a shirt or tank top. And it came in a small size, its reversible too, and pretty tight and durable. Ill try to find out what brand it is, I use it when im washing my binder or sleeping over with someone.

Oh and I heard if you push up and out instead of down and out it helps with the tissue damage problem, but it doesn't look as flat..

My aunt had breast cancer but I'm from a fairly large family so I think the fact that no one else has had it (and my parents and their siblings are quite old) might mean my risk isn't as high as one might automatically think. That's what I'm hoping anyway.... How risky is binding if you don't plan on surgery?

My mom had breast cancer and I still bind, and I think some people exaggerate the effects of binding on surgery results. There are plenty of trans guys who have bound for years and their surgery results are fine. Its when you don't bind PROPERLY that I think you can run into trouble. like when you bind too tight or with ace bandages or with tape or something like that.

I'm freaked both by the idea that it might complicate surgery (I might be able to do keyhole idk) and by the fact that if I don't have surgery, it'll make my breasts sag. If I've got to have them, I'd like to at least have nice ones....

As for breast tissue etc etc... There's some tricks to it.
One is, like others pointed out: bind the right way (not too tight, try to not 'force' the breasts too much). Two; don't wear the binder all the bloody time. Three; massage your breasts a few minutes on a daily basis - good for the blood flow/goes against tissue damage/sagging - do it with some lotion (good to moisterise too). Four: breasts will always sag..

I am M2F, and interested in sports bra.

About 4 years ago, I purchased several sports bras in a dollar shop of something like that of the USA. As I tend to wear very tight tops, I also need a special type of sports bra to hide my nipples at my work place. I need a sport bra that does not have any strap. A perfect one for me is a tight band with a shpe of tube.

Oh. Just ago, I found a bunch of 'tube bra' in the internet and I immediately ordered 4 (2 white, 1 grey, 1 black).

The total cost was just ca $20. There are many kinds of sports bra: long tube top, topbra, etc.

Sweet! I will be hitting up walmart it looks like...I will ignore the guilt to placate the disphoria.

Of course it won't be as flat as with a binder. But it will be flatter than no bra, or a normal bra, or a regular sports bra. And depending on the type of shirt u wear.

I got that Danskin bra at Target a month ago, and I've had mixed results. I'm a 38D-40DD, by the way.

Pros: squishes me in towards the ribcage pretty well, doesn't give me armpit boobage, reversible, decently priced

Cons: too short on top so I get a lot of sweaty cleavage bulging out the top *gag*, the uber-thin straps are a joke cos adjusting them short enough to minimize bounce makes them dig into my shoulders pretty bad, plus the straps show at the neck if I wear a loose-necked tee. Also the dark blue side pills a lot

I'm trying to fix the bulging and straps problems by altering them myself, but Wally world isn't the best place to find suitable material.

Since you're a B-cup I'm guessing that it'll work fine for you.
