Title: Low Energy
Post by: tiger on June 03, 2010, 11:52:42 PM
I've been on HRT, estrogen only, for over a year now. Lately I've been feeling very tired. I'm going to the DR on monday and having my blood work done again. I'm guessing based on how I feel that my T is very low at this point. I had low T even before I started hormones.

Is this just something I just have to work through?
Does it get better as my E goes to normal female level?
How is your energy after surgery? My surgery is 2+ yrs away.

It's likely that your gonads have begun to atrophy (due to the estrogen), which will result in lowered T production.
Low T does give a feeling of lack of energy.
It may well be something that you just have to work through; your body and mind will eventually get used to the lack of T and your energy state will have more equilibrium.

HRT does slow down your metabolism and lose energy. Progesterone is supposed to increase your energy levels though.

I'm doing a lot of physical labour at work of late and lugging my body to work has been a chore of late. I've been sleeping like crazy and still I've had low levels of energy even though I'm on progesterone. 5 months into HRT. It might also be that I'm burning myself out since I'm working full time and going to school part-time too.
