Title: Do we drift?

I thought I'd been living life, biting into the full meat and potatoes, but now I'm thinking that maybe I have been drifting through life with my books and nice friends and not really getting the full zest. What about yourselves, are you drifting are you you biting into that bitter lemon with gusto?

I dunno. I love sucking a fresh lemon though!
To bite into life is to take yourself outside your comfort zone on a regular basis. Trouble is, turns out life has teeth and it bites back. That can be painful and messy.
Sometimes I think a bit of easy coasting can actually be more fun...

I think it's a mix. A fine line. Too much *life* and you might explode....not enough time to catch your breath. Too much coasting and you don't get enough...*life*
I've got a bit of both at the moment. I feel like....I have moments where I feel like life is moving so fast I can't catch my breath or process any of it...and then I get moments of *breath* and coast...but just for a little while. Can't be in auto-piolet for too long.

since i was a teenager i've decided to go and live life instead of just drifting through it , enjoy every moment of it since anyone have only limited amount of time
so many years go bye and i take a different course/way of life than any usual person . but eventually i realized that i've been just drifting like anybody else , but only in a Perpendicular direction of other/usual drifts

Oh I'm very definitely a drifter, content to see where things take me, that doesn't mean that there are frequent rapids, water falls and whirlpools to contend with.
Having said that though, once I decide to act I'm usually pretty resolute in my decisions.

Oh I'm very definitely a drifter...
Under the Broadwalk was probably their biggest hit, but there were many others "on Broadway" "Up on the Roof" and "Saturday Night at the movies" to name but three.
If you were a Drifter I'm impressed! LOL
Sorry - yes - I'll get my coat!
Taxi for rejennyrated!

I tend to be somewhat of a drifter although occasionally I snap back into my plans and goals and refocus. There is nothing wrong with drifting. It makes for a good time out from reality.

Yeah, i drift out sometimes, especially if i have a certain issue or current goal that needs so much more attention than anything else, but i try to get back or stay near the line to my long term goal.

Drift drift away
the only ting preventing me from not drifting
is that the ocean refuses to swallow me
I believe my depression and it's meds contribute to my drift.
The meds belong to my depression and not me, myself, or I.

just be careful if you ask for lemonade, because life will dump a pile of lemons on your head and say "okay, make some." The last 2 years for me has been an all out mad dash with hardly time to catch my breath. I'm actually looking forward to a little drift time as soon as I finish transition and get back to Australia.

Hi .
Definitely not a drifter ,did things learnt things & experienced lots ,part of life if you wont it ,
& seen the changes both around us & my own changes going on,
To me to drift means only going where the tide takes you , iv cruised in a sence & some times the 4 x 4 has been needed ,a slow trip, & been able to stop along the way & see whats around me take note & on my way again till the next stop .
Like us moving so many times around our county never really knowing how long that next stop will be.
Now, iv slowed down yet have i just doing other things & being with lots of people & enjoying our grand children.
Drifting no, i like doing things just with out having to be pushed to do that, & still enjoy the ride where ever it may be.

Then I just lost it one day and I'm still trying to subdue the PTSD and anxiety/panic attacks.
I think when we are younger, our natural abundance of energy carries us through conditions such as PTSD, but then, when the energy drops, we are had by it.
You can avoid bitterness while doing nothing by keeping a sense of amusement. I think.

The yrs after that, I bought and rebuilt or refurbished 'turn of the century' houses,..

Don't drift on my tread.
