Title: New Girl in SoCal

Hello all, my name is Coppelia. I'm a 20 year old college student. Just finished 2 Associates Degrees!
I recently came to terms with the fact that I am a woman in a man's body. Looking back I knew I wasn't like other boys from an early age. I moved a lot growing up and every time I went to a new school my best friends there would always be girls. I never really connected with the guys. I always assumed I was just an effeminate boy and I'd chalk it up to having no real father figure. I never even thought it could be something more until a high school friend on mine went from Jenny to Julian.
One of the things that made it harder for me to accept myself as a woman is the fact that I'm bi-sexual. I could never figure out which gender I was "supposed" to be attracted to. Both of my younger brothers are gay so for a while I just lumped myself in their category, but then I realized it's more about who I am, not who I want to be with.
So now I think of myself as Coppelia. I haven't told anyone, nor have I done anything to change my appearance. I've tried dressing as a woman and though it does make me feel good, I'm just too masculine to pass in public at all. I've decided for now it is enough to know myself.

Thanks LordKAT. I haven't been on here a day and I've already found more interesting things than on most other forums I've been to.

Welcome!
I'd just like to say that your gender identity doesn't have to be related to your sexual orientation. They can be totally separate so don't worry about being bisexual. =)

Welcome to the group.
You can be a bisexual woman. That isn't so uncomon and unheard of that you should be alarmed. It just takes some coming to terms with. I know I am also bisexual and I spent alot of years agonizing over that. Just be bi and whoever is lucky enough to be your spouse is your spouse.
You would be surprized what hormones and surgeries can do. Don't worry you will never pass. If you start to transition you will be amazed.
here is a pic of me the male side was a couple of years ago but it is an acurate picture of what I looked like before I started transition last year, the female me is only at 8 months of HRT and transition.

Thanks a bunch. This is a rather recent epiphany for me so your reassurance is very relieving. I'm not sure how it is for everyone else but it's strange to be so confused about something and yet be so sure of that same thing. I know I'm a girl, I've finally managed to settle that, but I have no idea what I want to do about it.

I felt unsure what to do for many years and even when I decided what to do , I put it off for what I think are very good reasons. Don't be in any hurry. Just read, learn ponder and let your true self be found. It takes time and you will probably be amazed at what you can do and be when you finally decide and go for your dreams.

It is so fantastic and amazing to find so many people going through or that have gone through what I am currently experiencing. It's like finally finding someone who speaks your language in a completely foreign country. I am so glad I found this place.

Coppelia:
Notice that people here at Susan's readily accept you and respect you. Pretty cool, huh? Bet you never thought you'd find a place like this. Our stories have some similarities, though I'm a great deal older than you. We're glad you here. Get comfortable and post!

Welcome Coppelia. Your story is similar to many here. Yes Susan's is our safe haven, Lacey Lynne sums it up quite succinctly. Your sexual preferences do not make up who you are on the inside.
To Cynthialee I can only say WOW, I would not have believed your before pic, you are now all woman. You look beautiful now but I must admit you were also quite handsome previously despite those shorts.

I will have everyone here know that my checked shorts are handmade by Sevan and have often been the envy of my friends. (all hippies of course) I still have them and come good weather I shall were them again.
Thank you people. I don't feel like I pass that well but I keep hearing otherwise.

Hey! Welcome to Susan's! I'm 20 years old too. I'm currently working on a four year degree at college. I'm sure we have lots of the same struggles. Anyways... welcome and I hope you find some helpful resources here.

Bonjour! Hello! I adore your user name and it sounds very cool. I know how it feels being in the epitome of figuring out who you are, etc. etc., you may not believe it but I'm still a teenager so for now I have to play the cards I'm dealt.
My mother, her boyfriend, my grandpa, my close family, my friends and everybody at my high school knows I'm trans with a mix of intersex, so there's no need for hiding as everyone knows me...I'm sort of a celebrity at my school! :-X
I hope you have a great time here at Susan's and as you get to know us, we'll get to know you.
