NewsGush: God Destroys Jesus In Act of Himself (LINK (http://watchwithmothers.net/2010/06/17/newsgush-god-destroys-jesus-in-act-of-himself/))
In Ohio, USA there lived a statue of Jesus Christ, arms raised towards the sky. It was affectionately known as 'Touchdown Jesus'. That was until an act of God took the thing out, with a lightning strike that caused the thing to burn to a cinder.
Perhaps Jesus didn't take the rubbish out, or forgot to send out his thankyou cards to relatives after Christmas / his birthday.
Now how are the right wing religious fundies going to explain this one?

"On Monday night in Ohio, a 62-foot-tall statue of Jesus got hit by lightning and burned to the ground. (The adult bookstore across the street was unscathed.)" - Gail Collins in today's NY TIMES

This is my favorite piece of news this week, next to the one about the german lad who threw a puppy at hells angels.

Kinda predictable, from its shape, especially the way it towers above other buildings, that it would be hit by lightening.
The real question is why would anyone be stupid enough to build such a thing? And of flamable material?

I lol'd so hard at that article at work. I mean, what are the odds of someone flipping off a gang of Hells Angels, distracting them by throwing a puppy at them and then escaping on a stolen bulldozer?
Both articles, though, were epic wins the likes of which I haven't seen in months :)
