I used to go there for primary care when I lived in the area, but not for hrt. I think I heard he wants to do injections in the office, and that's about it, but I don't know for sure. He's a really nice gentleman.

Dr Paul Benson from Berkley Michigan is horrible!! I went to him december of 2011 I'm a transgender person that was looking for general care, and possibly hrt hormones. Dr Benson didn't even have the professionalism to introduce himself and rudely asked me ''what do I want?'' I was shocked at first but proceeded to ask him about hrt therapy, he coldly told me '' you can't always get what you want!" Once again I felt less patient who simply needed help. Dr Paul Benson was supposedly a transgender friendly doctor lol. If your a non transgerder person maybe he's a decent doctor but he lacks "ANY" information or compassion for transgender patient's

Hello. I go to Dr. Benson for my HRT!
I began seeing him in August of this year and have visited the office about 3 times now, I have nothing but good things to say about him. He is very direct and likes to move things along quickly, which can seem to some like he is rushing and being inconsiderate, but that's just him I guess.
I am a MTF Btw, so I know he does both HRT for men and women looking to transition. I don't know how educated he is on Trans. issues and such, but he his a Trans-Friendly doctor and his staff is very nice and welcoming. One thing I did notice though is that he does not increase dosages often at all. He has kept my friend who is a MTF on the same doses currently as she was on when she started over a year ago, but HRT varies from person to person, so maybe the current doses are doing what is needed for that person, I only go to Benson because they accept my insurance, it's a 2 hour drive for me to his office, but worth it because of my insurance.
