Title: Pharmacist Questions Me
Post by: Sarah B on June 23, 2010, 04:12:04 PM
No, not that question!

After 21 years of placing my prescriptions and getting them filled out, finally a pharmacist noted the dosage on my progynova and at the counter as I was just about to pay for it he comments on the dosage, the frequency and to top it of, he also mentions about having blood works done, it seems to me he was questioning the dosage and frequency that the doctor was prescribing.  Obviously it seemed high to the pharmacist.  To which I reply I have a specialist and an endocrinologist that specifically look after me.

Pharmacists, these days are getting more involved with their customers and this has been gradually occurring more and more as time goes by.  Couple of reasons stand to reason, take on some aspects of 'doctoring', hence make more money or they are really are concerned about their customers health.

Your thoughts on this aspect of our lives would be interesting.

Kind Regards
Sarah B

I was amazed by the knowledge of the pharmacists in chains of Boots on the High Street. When I went to buy some off-the-shelf meds they were able to consult with me and find out exactly what I needed which turned out to be entirely different - and cheaper. They certainly know their stuff, even if it means taking less profit in the end.
