<-- Apologies, Ellie was already taken and I could not for the life of me think of anything different.
My name is Ellie. Strictly speaking it's my nickname; I am happy with my given name but for the fact it doesn't fit my gender; I figure if Ellie can be short for Danielle it can be short for Daniel just as easily!
I am a 19 year old girl from England (without giving away my address I live near enough to the city of Wolverhampton for that to be on my postcards).
I am a Computer Games student studying in Leicester, about to (hopefully) start my second year.
I am an amateur web developer and have experience with forums mainly. I admin a quite big one and am "out" there. They're all fine with it, which is a great uplifter. Unfortunately just about all my friends are online.
I do see some folks from school. They don't know about "me" and we only meet up quarterly to discuss times gone by and drink beer ~
Hmm.
I like Florence and the Machine, and my "inspiration" for which I base my appearance when dressing up (I'm not out yet) are her and um... well, a porn star. (I don't... you know... to porn, I find it unsettling and discomforting. I DO however find pictures of naked ladies to be inspiring and beautiful. I'm sorry - I don't mean to be degrading - but they are getting paid for doing what they want to do and I aplaud them for that. I don't want to get into the moralics of porn here though and am off on a tangent.)
For the past few years I've been writing my autobiography. At 200 pages it's not a good read, is boring, and is unpublishable. It's let me open up about myself however.
I'm... well, I see myself as "soon to be out", I am trying to find the right time.
This madness has caused a lot of trouble for me mentally and I am going through a really rough time. It's why I'm here now. (NB: by "madness" I refer to the madness of society, not calling GID "madness").
Well um, that's me.
I suck at explaining things, and often think I've written things I haven't and think my posts are amazing and readable and interesting when they're not. Sorry!

Your posts are fine. I have trouble fitting words to paper so to speak.
Welcome to a friendly and informative place.

Thanks. :)
I guess I should explain a bit more -
When I was a kid, I had a "where do babies come from" book. The people in it were in the order boy - girl - teenboy - teengirl - man - woman, to show all genders on one page.
Well, I took this to think that boys eventually grew into girls.
When we started Sex Education realised this not to be the case and I guess that's when I started "questioning" myself. I never told anyone but from then I knew something was up.
A few years ago I became dead certain.
I'm welcome to be wrong of course, I'm not going to be drawn into anything that isn't right, however this is something I need to try out.
I do know I would never have SRS - not "the biggie" at least. I have read too many horror stories, seen too many horror pictures, and am confident that if stem cell research isn't halted we'll eventually be able to do the real thing, at least in my life time. I am happy to wait till then though there are some parts of me I seriously can't live with. They can go, wrinkly buggers.

Welcome to Susan's, Ellie. :icon_flower:
There's a lot of good information and good people here. Each of our stories is unique but we have a lot in common. Settle in, pull up a keyboard, and explore.
Be sure to look under the Announcements heading. There you will find the rules we live by in this little world of ours:
I'm in the States, but there are plenty of English girls here. Happy exploring. :icon_wave:

Hi Ellie, :icon_wave:
Welcome to our little family. Over 4900 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.
Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams. Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.
But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:
Hugs,
Janet

Welcome Ellie!
I like Florence and the Machine too, she's beautiful. I'm from New Zealand, hello from the colonies haha. I like the way you write, btw.

Ellie:
Looks to me like you're good at explaining things. I understood your post and enjoyed it.
One of my all-time favorite authors is British and was born in Leicester and grew up there. Much to admire about The British. You ARE right about society in general being messed up though.
Anyway, get comfortable ... and post. You'll find friends here ... get involved.
