Title: Hmmm Coffee!

How important is coffee to you?
I stopped drinking coffee a month ago after going to the dentist for a Zoom teeth whitening treatment. They had a summer special where the Zoom was $400 instead of their normal $600. Yes, very expensive. So I stopped my coffee habit of 3 cups a day since then.
Well, I cant hold out any longer, I miss coffee and coffee breaks! The dentist said if I resume try to drink it with a straw, which is weird. So, here I am drinking my first cup at my desk now with a straw. The caffeine is like a shot of adrenaline, wow my body loves it! I feel like I could break out dancing, lol.
I'm hoping using the straw and the trays I wear at night for whitening keep the teeth bright. But if not, I don't think I can make it without coffee. What a dilemma, look good or feel good, lol.
Any other coffee lovers out there with a coffee story? And is anyone drinking theirs with a straw?

I love coffee. It 2:24 PM and I have a cup with me now. I haven't drank it through a straw before to keep my teeth white though. I try all kinds of flavors looking for that great taste. My favorite right now is Hazelnut.

I'm not sure if this could be seen as an indicator or not... One year some friends gave me a gag gift of an I-V drip bag filled with coffee
If I don't get my morning fix of French roast with a splash of cream... Everyone may as well refer to me as Ms. B- the rest of the day

Coffee is God in my book.
I need the caffeine to function. I drink Swiss Mocha coffee from International Goods. I know, I know...not "real" coffee, but it tastes so good. Then I drink English Breakfast Tea and then a coke or two...or three....I don't sleep good at night so the caffeine is about all that keeps me going during the day, and normally I have to settle for coke when all I want is a nice cup of coffee.

Coffee... MMM....
Normal work days I used to drink about... 6 cups of espresso (black), 2 regular black coffee's and 1 coffee with milk to ease my stomach. That's without the cup of coffee with milk in the morning and the one in the evening after dinner. Oh and I threw in an energy drink halfway the day as well... :icon_woowoo:
So I cut back a bit... ::)
Now I usually drink around 1-2 cups of coffee with milk a day. Ocassionally an energy drink. I start my morning with a cup of tea with milk... 8)

Strange as it may sound, I drink everything through a straw, including coffee. Only exception is beer in a bar or soda from a bottle.

Haha I remember being spoon fed coffee when I was around 4. I have been kinda hooked on coffee ever since, but honestly I'm not addicted. Back in high school I drank a lot of it but now I drink it when I need it.

One day I was at work it was around 1:00PM. I needed caffeine so bad I was trying to leave work early just to get a cup. suddenly, I realized that there was coffee still in my cup from this morning. I worked my way back to my car and opened the door. there it was my cup. I picked it up and looked inside. my lip curled at first and than I turned it up and gulped the cold nasty coffee. I love coffee, but that is something I will never do again. I heard that before just wait until that hits again. I have a thermos for just in case.

Any of you have that coffee stuff from MickyDs?
I'm addicted to it. It's so bad for me, but I can go through a giant one in no time flat. I like my froo-froo coffees.

Haha, I like some stuff...if I make it my way haha. Like for the ice coffees, instead of putting in the standard amount of cream and flavor or liquid sugar, I always put in in a bit less because I like it a bit strong you know? Or for the frapes, I always make it with no whip and add a shot of expresso. But that's just my taste.
I dunno, it's fun making the coffees. I don't hate it, nor do I love it. But I do love making them. :)

I don't drink the ice coffees, I'm a fan of the frapes. I love it with extra whipped cream and I would love if it had an extra shot of espresso. I think I'd die of happiness.

Whew, good to know I'm not the only one using a straw. If Lordkat says it's cool, that's good enough for me.
And beer in a icy frosted mug would be wasted with a straw, so I would have to make an exception with that too.
Maybe someday I'll make it back out for one of those ice cold drafts to celebrate 2010.
Thanks. I'll buy ya a cold one.

How interesting, drinking coffee with a straw. I might do it myself rather than give up coffee. :)
I have also heard that you should drink orange juice with a straw too, oj is bad for your teeth, but good for your body and system. :) So drink up.....or suck it up. lol

I love McDonald's iced coffee. Other than that I am a Starbucks addict. I am helping put somebody's kid through college with the amount of money I spend on my white chocolate mocha lattes. I can't go a day without coffee or else withdrawel hits.
Drinking coffee with a straw can be just as pleasurable but I really doubt it prevents stained teeth. I enjoy drinking from those red small coffee stirrers.

It helps. It puts the majority of the coffee behind your front teeth instead of straining it through your front teeth.

What my dentist told me to do was every time I drink coffee or any form of juice such as orange juice (well mainly OJ), always wash my mouth with water afterwards. This reduces the staining and also helps you clean it off when you brush you're able to brush your teeth later on. And this really works. I can attest to this. Doesn't work 100% but it sure helps.

I'm the person who walks into the coffee shop and orders "medium coffee, black" and just says that over and over, while they blabber on about 'room for cream' ("would you like me to give you only 75% of your order?") and some Italian size chart that why in the hell should I know that crap? But I do love coffee which is why I put up with it.
First thing I do when I get up is grind the coffee and crank up the old Mistress Coffee, and I have a lot of sources for really good coffee beans here, and I try to take advantage of that, and if not there's always Pete's Blend 101 to fall back on.

K so this seems like the place to post this.
My coffee pot is a standard 12 cup pot. I put 12 cups of water in it every day & set the timer. By the time I wake up, I have 12 cups of coffee, not less. Most days there is a whole bunch of water to clean up on the counter, surrounding the pot. It wasn't there before, since I clean up if some spills. What I'm wondering about is where all this water is coming from when I still get a full pot. There are no other water sources there. WTF? I'll replace it soon, but I just find this odd.

I would check the back of the pot, mine has a small slot there that if it is over filled it will run out. I still get a full pot, but I have had water around it till I saw this slot.

Tried that. No slot in the back other than where the power cord comes from (which isn't really a slot so much as just a spot there the cord comes from). Pretty much solid plastic in that area. I've inspected it as much as I can for something that isn't part of my familiarity (computers, firearms, motorcycles). I think this thing is just magic lolz.

Sounds like your getting condensation (steam), most likely on the lid of the coffee maker and it's dripping off the edges of the coffee maker lid and onto the counter top

Well, the thing finally died. It won't even heat up, much less make a pot. Luckily, I never threw out the old one. Figures. The old one is cheap, & probably at least 5 years old. The newer one is this fancy thing my mother got me for Christmas, & it already crapped out on me.

I cannot begin a day without it and I usually drink 2 more cups in the evening.
I also drink tea. Actually I've been a tea drinker longer than a coffee addict. ;D

The flavored beans are as addicting as the coffee made from them
I start drooling in the coffee isle looking at them
I used to get the biggest coffee I could at the truck stop, dump a small jar of instant in it and lots of sugar. It'd last me for many a mile. I hadn't thought about that in a long time..... :)
